A fine predicament you have got yourself into. I used Google translator on your Welsh sentence because it didn't make sense to me and after doing so, even less. Now, how do we effect your release. The ransom demands are technically beyond my capabilities, I'm just a simple sailor girl. If they wanted a topsail schooner rerigging or a lecture on traditional sail in the Thames Estuary, then I'm your girl, but all that technical stuff..... no!. Actually it sounds complicated enough that most, if not all could come from your own resources. Alternatives. At one time, the Welsh Navy would have sent a gunboat, but in view of the location, that could be difficult. Would it be possible to land a seaplane on the Ostpark Lake with a detachment of marine commandos from the Welsh Navy to storm your prison and effect your release. Or, could I buy your release with a box of my renowned
    sausage rolls
.? Your advice please if you can evade your captors long enough to answer. Lt. Nerys

    Re: Thames Barge.
I'm afraid it is very different in France, there is very little in the way of English food they can get in the local supermarkets and that includes Lidl and Aldi. There is a version of bacon and sausages, but rather different to what we expect. They can get an English tea in Intermarche (I think) but it is very expensive. An ex pat living locally tried to set up a business on the local markets selling English food, he was making regular trips to Dover for stock, but I'm afraid it didn't last very long. We also met at a trade show in Geneva once somebody selling quite a good range there, again, horribly expensive even by French or Swiss standards. Sorry I can't send you any

, I think regulations forbid it anyway. Nerys

    Doug, If I thought my
    sausage rolls
would still be fresh enough by the time you received them, I'd gladly send you some, but they only keep for about three days and that's in the fridge. If you want to risk it..... Nerys

    Re: Thames Barge.
My sister and family make that complaint too and when I used to visit frequently I used to keep them well supplied in all things like English sausages, English bacon. baked beans, tinned spaghetti, beef suet, gravy mix and much else.. Gwyneth and I bought some things in a supermarket in Dijon one day that looked like
    sausage rolls
. They weren't and we never found out what vile substance they were made from. That is one of the disadvantages of living in Europe if you like your English delicacies. Nerys
