Upper & Lower Chines by robbob Fleet Admiral!   Posted: 2 months ago
Hi Doug. All credit due to Phil Smith and his original design for that actually... Hi rolfman2000 I hope SWMBO is good to her word as I happen to know that the kit is now available to buy from Vintage Model Works 😊👍 I'm told the price is £185.00 + P&P and there's also an optional stand/carrying box which is CNC cut to the hull profile for an additional £10.00 That sounds a bit of a bargain too. Contact Mike Cummings at VMW for more information: I'm hoping to have the boat in an advanced state of completion in time for the London Model Engineering Exhibition at 'Ally Pally' in January 2019. It will be on the St.Albans & District Model Engineering Society club stand alongside my RAF Crash Tender. Rob.

three model live steam boats for sale by Westquay Fleet Admiral!   Posted: 6 months ago
Very nice boats, well worth the asking price, but all three together? I doubt you'll find a buyer as they represent very different tastes. BUT, at the price of steamy bits these days, a bargain. Are the boilers all inspected and certificated? Martin

Here you go-- looks good. Got mine from Netto £20 when they were pulling out. Had loads of bargains from them over their sojourn here. I always managed to find a little fault and got managers discount. 50% or more usually.

Rebuild Flower Class Corvette by boaty Admiral   Posted: 7 months ago
Looks like a real bargain. Great when you have a model to sail and also display on your window sill. I built an Italeri PT 109 six years ago and this is the same. Its very rewarding when you motorise a plastic kit as when at the lakeside people come up and say did you really build that. Plastic magic never fails. Boaty😎

advise required by onetenor Fleet Admiral!   Posted: 9 months ago
Teejay What you need to think about re buying gear is reliability. Almost every guy on here will have their own ideas regarding what to buy and or stories of tragedies with the "wrong"equipment they bought. However for the most part you will get good advise. I advise you to read as many reviews of equipment as you can to give you at least some idea of what you may need. Sometimes good"new" equipment can be found cheaply on E Bay/ Amazon that you can read reviews on Which can give you some idea about S/H stuff. Also keep an eye on stuff for sale on forum sites for sale sections. Many a bargain can be found on these sites. Also join a club or visit one from time to time and talk to members who will on the whole be only too willing to advise you. Good luck I am in a similar position as I'm returning to the hobby after over 40 yrs away. At least I've "Been There" so not a complete novice but near enough. Good luck. John O/T ( onetenor)👍😊

It's a sad day!. by stormin Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 9 months ago
Hi Boatshed, that's crazy, £80 fine for running your boat, i'd like to have met that ranger (jobsworth) you could rob your local sweet shop and got fine less. I to have several SCs 40,45,60 and a 90 ABC wonderful bargain little engines, the 60 must have had, no exaggeration, at least 20 gallons of fuel run through it and it's still as good as new, the 90,O.M.G., has that much compression it needs 24volts to start it. My pride and joy is my veron huntsman which I built in 1966 with a 15cc gannet four stroke petrol engine.

Bismarck paint scheme (for Rookysailor ;-) by Rookysailor Commander   Posted: 11 months ago
Fantastic photo's Doug, never seen these before. The one without the camo but with the bow & stern waves is an option in the trumpeter paint options, which I like best. Very quiet show at Heywood but got a decaperm 6v for £10 and a Marcle card model of Tirpitz @ 1/200 for ....£10, a bargain.👍 many thanks, Peter
