EGREMONT by 4clubs Fleet Admiral!   Posted: 2 months ago
[Score: 5/10] 38"/1400g EGREMONT Twin Propellors (3 Blade 25mm) - Comments: Just Completed another Egremont Mersey Ferry in different colours this time. Not yet decided on power, electrics, etc just for show at the moment. Will probably sell it and let the new owner put in his own electrics.

Mersey Ferry Royal Iris(Fish and Chip Boat) by 4clubs Fleet Admiral!   Posted: 6 months ago
Thanks for your kind coments. She was called the Fish and Chip boat because she was the only Mersey Ferry to have a Fish and Chip Bar on board. She had an extensive Dance floor and was great for functions especially with the fish and chip suppers available on board.

WOW! this takes me back to my primary school days in Bolton, it would be late 40s, early 50s. We had a school trip to sail on the "Royal Iris" she was a new ferry boat of the day, I remember it so well, we went across to New Brighton and played on the beach. Thank you for the memory jog. What is the fish and ship boat meaning? I live in Australia now so this is a real treat. Harry (236674) 😀

Royal Iris by Trillium Commander   Posted: 2 years ago
Another Mersey ferry and another Royal Iris. This is 1:64 scale (3/16":ft), measures 29" long and weighs 11lbs. Powered by NiMH 6V batteries and Electronize 365-14 motors. It is fitted with either a self-contained sound system playing the 60's "Liverpool sound " music, or fitted with 12V NiMH batteries to illuminate the lights.

Mersey Ferry Snowdrop (ex Woodchurch) by Dave M Fleet Admiral!   Posted: 2 years ago
As a regular traveller on the Woodchurch I would suggest your model is a very realistic representation. Paint wise the real boat was far from clean or well painted and in places the rust was all to evident. It was a well loved and trusty vessel and I am sure I am not alone in having many happy memories of cross river trips on her and her sister ferries.

Hi! fair comment, but the real thing was far from pristine. Now its in Razzle Dazzle colours on the Mersey and in my opinion looks awful. A friend of mine has made a model in these new colours a good representation but not to my taste.
