Hello Chris, I tried to send the same article but failed, however on page 15 re photo 4 Martin Summers got in touch with Dave to tell him about the issue confirming there was only one rudder. As to changing your model I personally think it looks more balanced with twin rudders and could be considered a correction or modification that should always have been. Love your work by the way wish I had your skills.

Hi Chris, had started and stalled my Bluebird but canβt help but notice after research the twin rudders which according to an old MBM there should only be oneπ€

Hi
Thank you so much for your help, first I tried boiling water poured over the hull but only slightly helped, then I tried the water in the hull, magic!!
The hull is no longer twisted, have discovered a very slight leak which should be straight forward.
Will leave it overnight on the stand with the tape around it.
Thanks once again, if itβs ok will post other problems that Iβm bound to come across ie prop shaft installation, electrics and so on, looking forward to the wood bits though.

I,m a real novice at rc model boats but just fell in love with this model so promptly ordered the styrene hull from an on line supplier.
The problem Iβve encountered relates to the hull which I thought had been going well until I noticed that it has a slight twist which when mounted in the keel stand can be straightened with a little pressure But of course springs back.
At the moment Iβve placed it in the stand and pu tape around the hull to hold it in shape (which no doubt will spring back once removed).
Has anyone any advice, have thought about applying heat from an hairdryer but Iβm not confident this will work.
Hope there is something I can do with this or should I scrap it and try to make a wooden hull from the plans.
Many thanks.

Hi Ron
Sorry on further investigation HMS Naiad was the first and others followed.
I think the main difference was she was the only one in the class to have three turrets up front all the others had two.
The model will therefore need some mods to reflect but at least you will have a good start.
To find out more about Flyhawk kits try a YouTube search, they really are fantastic kits but trying on the eyes to make.

Hi Ron
Small (1/700)but have a look at Flyhawk HMS Naiad which I think you will find was a Dido class ship.
Not sure itβs the same but assuming HMS Dido was the first in its class and other ships followed this kit may be just right.
Hope this helps
