Hi Robo,
On the outside of the hull, I usually give my wood two coats of finishing resin thinned 30% with methylated spirits. Sanded between coats with 400 grade paper. On the hull I add to the first coat of finishing resin a layer of
Lightweight glass fibre 1oz / sqr yard. I obtain this from Deluxe Materials Ltd .
On the inside of the hull I usually give one coat of normal fibre glass resin not diluted.
Both the above work well for me.
Regards,
Roger G, Stafford

H try Axminster Power Tools Craft Sander it is both disc and belt. Ref No :- AC 125 BDS currently ยฃ99. 98np. Ive had one for years and is totally reliable. You can even sharpen knives, chislels, drills, touch up lathe tools etc on the belt.
I highly recommend it. Regards, Roger G, Nr Stafford. If you are this way call in and try it.
