Oliver W, 37" tug boat by Squirtgun Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 3 years ago
I started this April of 2010, for my newly born nephew, yup, you guessed It he's five now, and his tug will be finished next weekend when they come for a visit! Scratch built, Ram sound unit, Bilge pump, single 12V brushed motor, Dumas mechanical speed control, a single water monitor, operated via Futaba 4 channel. Internal arrangement of gear, not yet set, however In water testing, the boat Is very stable, will update when completed.

How do you simulate the spray pattern? Most monitors just stream.

Edward M.Cotter Fire-boat by Squirtgun Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 3 years ago
Nice build! There Is a company In California USA, Harbormodels.com, that has monitors and other very nice fittings, hardware, electronics, I purchased one for my tug. Good prices.

Superstructure by Squirtgun Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Thank you for the direction, It's rewarding to build, but I don't want It to become a submarine, that's next years project!

Superstructure by Squirtgun Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
HI Mark, Its for the superstructure, I haven't been able to find vertical grain In a 48" Length, the 3 ply 1/16" thick Is available In that length. Thanks for responding!

Superstructure by Squirtgun Sub-Lieutenant   Posted: 4 years ago
Can 3 ply sheet, be substituted for vertical grain sheet?

Hi! This Is a scratch build from plans, of the "Angel's Gate II" , at the Los Angeles Maritime museum. This example has a bilge pump, diesel horn, and will be adding a fire monitor. My nephew Is pretty excited about It, he Is 4, and already has been practicing with the transmitter!
