having figured out where to pit the battery i am going to power it with a NIMH battery in the middle of the ship and fit the speed controller and radio in the mid hold area, I don't want to tidy it up to much as its charm is the Heres one some some one knocked up look i found a date of 1958 scribbled on the mid deck and Mexico so I can assume it was made aboard a boat then

Well the start on this build, Or should say major refit still acquiring the parts from the castings and replacement windows from vintage model works to its new power unit and speed controller and the whole subject of putting in a pump to assist the cooling of the Esc, one question what does one fix the ruddel and water intake in with do you put silicone round or something else

thats who I contacted they have changed there name from Vintage model boat shop to vintage model works and they said they hadn't any parts for the 46 inch Raf tender perhaps you will release a master as the mast is the bit that gets broken easiest esp on the 46 not the 34 that this site stocks

these boat was made by Vosper the commission in 1963 for the Ghana navy and saw service till 1988, this model was acquired in 2022, Its a wooden kit powered by a single brushed motor the superstructure is bit crude but in need of a fettle the real problems are in the hull with bits paint damage , that will me strip back and repaint
That is my starting point so week one since i have two boats on the go at once each in turn has its own problems
