Hey, it's coming along nicely, waiting patiently for the next installment! question is this the same boat from your last video?
Response by trynewskillsnow on the 2 years ago
Hi figtree7nts!
Yes, this is the same boat from last video!
The next step I'm going to put some fibreglass inside.

I bought the motor RE-540 from MFA. I really don't know if that is the right motor for the size of this boat, but...we keep going!

👍 👍
Response by figtree7nts on the 2 years ago
I'm assuming this is going to be a twin screw, Right! if it is this boat is going to have a lot of power! oh, you can ask about the RE-540 MFA on the forum, the guys on the forum have a lot of knowledge! and they can help you decide how to outfit your boat. good luck!

Serenity on her Maiden Voyage, Sorry about the pixelated Video.
I'll try making a better one next time, time for a new camera!
Oh, that's my wife at the Camera!
Response by figtree7nts on the 2 years ago
Hi Wolffoot, Yes it the plastic hull which I think is ok kind of! Thanks I love my tugboat I renamed it after my grand daughter Serenity! I actually like the performance of the boat at 12Volts as apposed to 6Volts! one question can you take a picture of your tugboat so I can see her? kind of just to compare notes if you will!
Come to think of it I wish I would have been able to get the fiberglass hull instead of the plastic. oh by the way mine is extremely heavy also! I just don't know how much it weighs!

I bought this ready to sail kit from Howes Models on my return to model boating after a break of 25 years.
My longtime friend Chris and I made the video as a bit of fun and to celebrate our return.
Watch out for the green dragon on the starboard bow!
Response by Rex3644 on the 2 years ago
Well done and welcome back to model boating.
Where is the venue your were sailing at?
It looks like the club has a lot of support.
Continue to enjoy.
Response by cormorant on the 2 years ago
This is a small lake at County Hall, Worcester, the HQ of Worcestershire County Council and now the Sunday morning venue of Droitwich Spa Model Boat Club, of which I am a member.
Yes, the club is well supported and barring ice, there is attendance every Sunday throughout the year.
Coincidentally, this was my sailing venue 25years ago.

This film was taken on our home lake at Needham Market . Originally an I.C powered boat I have converted to single brushless motor on a direct drive 48mm prop , single rudder . Powered by 2*5000mah 4 cell lipos . As you can see I am very pleased with its performance . 😎
Response by CraigRobotham on the 2 years ago
Cheers Des , was worth the effort for sure . Nice seeing you today as well mate . 👍

Very nice model was it a kit or scratch built thank again

excellent video also
Response by CraigRobotham on the 2 years ago
These are originally an I.C kit 1/6 scale , there is a company in Germany still making them believe they are called MHZ. I think I've scene them in 1/8 and 1/35 scale too . Also other builders have used water jet drives on films I've watched . This one is running on brushless motor normal prop and direct drive as all my boats have so far . Keeps the cost of spare parts down %uD83D%uDE0E%uD83D%uDC4D
