Hello Boatshed

If you have a look at https://astecmodels.co.uk you'll see that they have a lot more than just flashing blue lights

This looks like a fun boat. Going to submit a purchase on line

When you say leaks from the jet drive, is it not seal able yourself. I know you shouldn't need to being a new boat but is it just a bad seal that can be rectified with sealant ? I like the look of the boat it rides the water well at speed. But it does seem to sit very low in the water at slow speeds.
Response by figtree7nts on the 5 months ago
I guess it could be sealed up.
The opening to the jet drives is small.
You can't get your hands in!
The opening which is under the 50 cal.on her stern.
is meant more for working on the jet drives!
To grease if you will!
You could maybe spray some kind of sealer!
But why have to fix a brand new boat!
I was told I had gotten a leaky boat.
As for her sitting low.
It's just the design of the thing!
As the jet drive pump water.
the boat digs into the water!
Don't get me wrong it's a great looking boat!
I sent mine back, the wife wants me to get another one!

its a"pibber" this is the boat martin sheen used in the film "apocalypse now", first job for me would be get that cardboard flag off and find a silk one that will move in the wind!

good fun looking boat though, and the jet drives mean iy could operate in shallow water👍

Mobile Marine Skimmer - Posted: 6 months ago by Dave M

Mobile Marine do a Skimmer hulls that you can use to build your own skimmer. This is the larger version and they also do a smaller version.
I have used a 2208 brushless with a chopped down 10" prop, cheap 10amp ESC and 11.1v 2200Ma Lipo.
Good when the weed gets too bad!

Whilst putting the finishing touches to my latest project I came across a morse code sound clip.
Using my Shockwave2 sound system, I synced it to an LED on the bridge.
Trouble is, I do not read morse.
Can any of you signallers tell me if this message makes sense?
Thank you.
Response by RNinMunich on the 4 months ago
Hi Steve,
your question has been lurking at the back of my mind since you posted it!
Tried to download the vid and separate the sound track but the 'toob' wouldn't let me 😭
Can you post or mail me the sound clip alone? Then I'll stuff it into a sound (wave) analyser and see if we can at least identify the dots and dashes 😉 Doug 😎
Response by figtree7nts on the 4 months ago
Hi Doug,

I've already analyzed it.
It's just gibberish. a bunch of T's E's and I believe numbers!
If I recall correctly....
Response by RNinMunich on the 4 months ago
I suspected as much! 😲
I can design naval COMMS systems😉, but I can't read the codes they use 🤔 I thought an Old Sea Dog could decode it.
BRAVO ZULU THAT MAN 👍

Vosper 73ft Type 1 MTB - Scratchbuilt. Now running two brushless motors and NiMH batteries. Photos previously posted. 1/24 Scale

Fairmile D MTB623 belongs to a good friend. This boat was also featured in a previous video with my Fairmile D.

The lake was a bit choppy with realistic sea conditions.

...and some rowing marines. This was a good show to see some quirky watercraft. Not easy recovering the smaller lifeboat but they did it.
Response by reilly4 on the 6 months ago
I loved the Rowing Marines.
