Hi Cash, Yes, I can see the need for a second military craft in your organisation and perhaps the way forward would be a Christmas donation from the
    Commodore
. In the Bristol Channel Patrol there is talk of a further craft to augment our activities. Midshipman Thompson has proved his ability during my current enforced absence and I think should retain his command. The Llynges Frenhinol Gymreig, the Welsh Navy, have offered to lend me one of their fast patrol boats, currently laid up, on my return to duty. I have not discussed this with the Fleet Admiral yet but I cannot see him objecting as there will be no cost to this organisation and we will be able to carry out patrols with greater coverage. Just keep your rabbits under control, I'm thinking of harnessing some of the local tame dragons for fire power Lt.Cdr. Nerys

PO Hargett reporting. Texas Squadron flagship โ€œSan Jacintoโ€ maintenance complied with. However, Iโ€™ve been told by the chief engineer that she might not be with us for long. Having a hard time keeping flank speed due to inadequate boiler pressure, several hull cracks have been noted and repaired due to numerous run ins with Oklahoma insurgents, and sheโ€™s just old. Iโ€™ve taken the liberty of inspecting whatโ€™s berthed in the McKinney dockyards, several tugs and launches, a police cruiser and thereโ€™s a new search and rescue boat coming out of the yard, but nothing military capable. Thereโ€™s still the option of the Japanese PT boat that is in CKD (complete knocked down) status, or I might approach the
    Commodore
to see if funds can be released for something more suitable. Thereโ€™s a builder on your side of the pond, Deans Marine I think is the name, has a riverine PBR that would be very well suited for the missions we get here. Please advise as to best course of action. LT Errol Cat has taken the launch with a few marines to investigate rumors of more Oklahoma rabbit hit and run operations, I have full confidence in his capabilities to accomplish his mission. We have the San Jacinto steaming into Lake Texoma, will make full report soon. PO Cash Hargett

Shame about the show Warrant. Guess it's the same old story:- little or no turnover - no repeat show appearance. In that respect we are all responsible: we buy online (cos we're too lazy to get off our b**s) so local shops go - so we buy online ... Same with the show traders๐Ÿ˜ "a 1/100 scratch built Bismarck in stainless steel" Ye Gods and little fishes๐Ÿ˜ฎ What sort of masochist gives himself such a punishing task!? Re Clara- Full name Clara May, built 1891, a coastal trading ketch. There were three of this type built somewhere in the West Country apparently. There's a book on the three ships which you can buy, or find a library with a copy, here- https://www.worldcat.org/title/agnes-the-clara-may-and-the-traly-three-westcountry-ketches-with-a-little-history/oclc/156891180&referer=brief_results Have fun with her๐Ÿ‘ Wishing you a peaceful watch Warrant. It was a typical west coast of England trading ketch which could enter and easily manoeuver in all kinds of harbours for loading and unloading of merchandise directly on the pier. At first it carried a polacre rigging (?) which was later changed to a ketch rigging, by which name it is known. In 1926 its rigging was reduced and it had a 2 cylinder 50 HP semidiesel (?) engine installed. The Clara May remained in service till 1953." Maybe Nerys can explain what poleacre rigging is? GLUE FOR ABS
I used acetone for internal reinforcing strips (ABS to ABS) or sticking an ABS bracket to the hull etc. You just use a small paint brush and run some acetone along the edge while clamping the part. You have to be careful on the outside as it will mark the ABS finish if you get a run. I'm assuming it's still the same material Graupner used to make hulls out of (I had a
    Commodore
and still have an Optimist from the 70s). Try a drop on some scrap to see if it will melt the ABS. If it does, you can also make an ABS 'putty' from scrap material softened with acetone for smoothing a seam etc (sets fast though).
