About the website
The website provides a great deal of content including and not limited to forums, blogs, photos, videos, clubs, events, general information, products and links. Nearly every area of the website is generated from what members contribute. So it’s kind of like a forum! But not just a forum! There are many forums on the internet, but here we wanted to do something special and build an online resource.
General rules
You may only use this website as intended! You may not cause harm such as and not limited to adding viruses or other programs or technology designed to disrupt or damage software or hardware. You may not create derivative works from, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any technology used. You may not use a spider or other device to process or monitor activity on or copy pages from the website, except in the operation or use of an internet search engine, hit counters or similar technology. You may not collect electronic mail addresses or other information. You must not impersonate another person or entity. You may not use any meta tags, search terms, key terms, or the like that contains this website’s name or trade marks. You must not engage in any activity that interferes with another user’s ability to use or enjoy the website. You may not assist or encourage any third party in engaging in any activity prohibited by these terms.
Posting rules
We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the website rules, as access to this site is a privilege and not a right. Any content of these types will be deleted.
Memberships and payments
Optional paid membership on Model Boats Website helps support hosting and running the community. Tiers (such as Bronze, Silver, and Gold) and what they include are described on the membership page; benefits may include different levels of advertising on the site. Membership is not required to use the community in general.
Checkout. Card payments and PayPal subscriptions are completed through PayPal’s checkout. When you pay, you also agree to PayPal’s terms and privacy policy for that part of the process.
Subscriptions. Monthly subscriptions renew until cancelled. You can cancel from your PayPal account or by following the unsubscribe flow linked from the membership area, which may take you to PayPal to finish cancellation. After cancellation, your account returns to the non-paid tier described on the membership page.
One-off payments. A single (“one-time” or “contributor”) payment covers the period and benefits described at the time you pay, unless we say otherwise on the membership page.
Bank transfer. Where we offer bank transfer (for example BACS), you must use the reference we give you so we can match your payment to your account. We aim to apply benefits after the payment clears; bank processing times vary.
Prices. Amounts are shown on the membership page (typically in GBP). We reserve the right to change membership prices or tiers. If we do, we will give you reasonable advance notice (for example by email to the address on your account, or by a clear notice on the site) before the new prices apply, so you can review or change your subscription if you wish.

Terms of sale
(1) Please read these terms of sale carefully. By placing an order you expressly agree to these terms of sale. (2) In these terms of sale, “we” means Model Boats Website (“us” and “our” will be construed accordingly); and “you” means our customer or potential customer for products (“your” will be construed accordingly). The only language in which we provide these terms of sale is English. (3) Before you place your order, you will have the opportunity of identifying whether you have made any input errors. The final order summary and price is shown before proceeding to payment. We will not file a copy of these terms of sale specifically in relation to your order. We may update the version of these terms of sale on the website from time to time, and we do not guarantee that the version you have agreed to will remain accessible. We therefore recommend that you download, print and retain a copy of these terms of sale for your records. (4) Prices for products are quoted on our website. The website contains a large number of products and it is always possible that some of the prices on the website may be incorrect. We will verify prices as part of our sale procedures so that a product’s correct price will be stated. In addition to the price of the products, you may have to pay a delivery charge, which will be as stated when you pay for the product. Payment must be made upon the submission of your order. We may withhold the products and/or cancel the contract between us if the price is not received from you in full in cleared funds. (5) You warrant to us that: (5a) you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts, and you have full authority, power and capacity to agree to these terms of sale; (5b) the information provided in your order is accurate and complete; (6) We will arrange for the products to be delivered to the address for delivery indicated in your order. We will use reasonable endeavours to deliver products on or before the date for delivery set out in our order confirmation or, if no date is set out in our order confirmation, within 30 days of the date of our order confirmation.
Returns
(1) Where you have no other legal right to return a product and receive a refund or exchange, then you will nonetheless be entitled to return a product to us where: (1a) we receive the returned product within 30 days following the date of purchase of the product; (1b) the returned product is unused, in its original unopened packaging (with any seal or shrink-wrap intact) and otherwise in a condition enabling us to sell the product as new; (2) We will give you a refund for the full price of any product properly returned by you in accordance with the terms of this returns policy (including the original delivery charges but excluding the costs of returning the product to us). (3) Where you return a product in contravention of this policy (and where you do not have any other legal right to return the product): (a) we will not refund or exchange the product; (b) we may retain the returned product until you pay to us such additional amount as we may charge for re-delivery of the returned product;
Disclaimers and exclusions
Disclaimer of warranties. Model Boats Website provides the website and Model Boats Website service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Model Boats Website does not represent or warrant that the website, Model Boats Website service or its use: (i) will be interrupted, (ii) will be free of inaccuracies or errors, (iii) will meet your requirements, or (iv) will operate in the configuration or with the hardware or software you use. Model Boats Website makes no warranties other than those made expressly in these terms of service; and hereby disclaims any and all implied warranties, including without limitation warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement.
Disclaimer of sales. Model Boats Website provides the website and Model Boats Website service only. Any transactions made through the website are done at the risk of the buyers and sellers involved. By no means does the website and Model Boats Website service accept any responsibility for these sales. It is recommended that items are not bought directly from the members on this website and instead done through external providers such as eBay, PayPal or an external shop checkout system which specialises in online purchases and merchandising. You must not use the website and Model Boats Website service for regular advertising or advertising mass produced items unless first agreed.
Limitation of liability. Model Boats Website will not be liable to you or any third party for any consequential, incidental, indirect, punitive or special damages (including damages relating to lost profits, lost data or loss of goodwill) arising out of, relating to or connected with the use of the Model Boats Website service or these terms based on any cause of action, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Termination
Termination. In its sole discretion, with or without notice to you, Model Boats Website may: (i) suspend, limit your access to or terminate your use of the website and/or the Model Boats Website service, (ii) suspend, limit your access to or terminate your account, (iii) remove any of your content from Model Boats Website’s servers and directories and (iv) prohibit you from using the Model Boats Website service and/or the website.
Survival. Notwithstanding termination above, these terms of service will survive indefinitely unless and until Model Boats Website chooses to terminate them.
Effect of termination. If you or Model Boats Website terminates your use of the website or the Model Boats Website service, Model Boats Website may delete any content or other materials relating to your use of the Model Boats Website service on Model Boats Website’s servers or otherwise in its possession and Model Boats Website will have no liability to you or any third party for doing so.
