    Hi, gundalow reminds me of a large
    surfboard
    (about 20 m long). Commentaries say that on gundalows there is a Mediterranian influence (in terms of sails)however, sails began to be used on gundalows only in the second half of the 19th century. The most used were poles, oars and, of course, mainly the tides in the Great Bay of Piscataqua (New Hamshire-Maine area,USA).It was similar to barges, using the tides on the Thames river. First of all, I wonder how the model will behave on the water .. and how it will sail.. yesterday I started glueing a plywood deck. The most difficult thing will be to shape the bow and stern that have a spoon shape. I will mold it from extruded polystyrene, then the whole hull will be laminated. Tom
