    New Website Sneak Peak
Thought I'd share a sneak peak of the new website with everyone. I was hoping it'd be live by now, but things have required more development time than I first thought. So instead of giving you all a half-baked system, I've kept it in development a bit longer. In the screenshots: - New home page layout, forum middle-top, then build blogs, media gallery, events, clubs/lakes, new harbour boats, a new section for how-to articles and useful links. - How-to articles can be edited - Useful links can be posted on their own - Any member can follow any other member - Forum threads as well as blogs can be followed - New events section, with calendar and map - New places section, also with map - Cleaner layout for forum threads and blogs - Completely refreshed mobile app - New ranking system (some of you will change rank, but it'll remain fair to who has contributed the most) - Easier login, easier uploading of files, easier posting in general - Faster website, all database queries have been restructured to provide fast responses - New notifications area showing all

s to everything you're following There's a tonne more, I do think you'll all love the new site once it's live. Still don't want to promise dates, but when it's ready, it'll launch! Many thanks again to everyone who supports this website. Without this, we'd have sunk years ago! Stephen

    Re: Enclosing the controls.
Hi Alan. You are correct, I had tucked that leg of the aerial alongside the ESC and probably would have used that position but I'll take your advice and move it away as far as practical. I'll put it in a thin plastic tube at the front of the enclosure so it will be correctly distanced as you rightly suggest. I had not considered that any nasty RFI from the ESC (or any other acronyms ๐Ÿ˜‰) would be an issue with 2.4G kit. The other leg of the aerial is passed through a hole in the side wall of the well deck into the hull cavity and extends forward, it's also above the waterline too so that should be OK. The aerial wires will be at 90 degrees to each other which I know is desirable too. BTW. I have developed the fan cooling of the motor a bit more so I'll post an

I used to get Notifications of
    update
s to this Site on a Weekly basis; for some reason in the last two weeks I get several
    update
Notices daily. I have checked the Notifications frequency in my Profile and nothing changed. Why is the Site sending out
    update
Notices for every posting? How do I revert back to Weekly Notice
    update
s? I enjoy Model Boats, however I get far toooooooooooo much e-Mail traffic . Any insights, are appreciated.

You haven't done that. You have weekly set, as well as another 6 options. This is a screenshot of your current notification settings. As an admin, I can see this! The one that is ticked saying "recently viewed topics" is the one causing you to receive emails. What has changed (for you only), is that you have recently viewed lots of topics, therefore the website is letting you know there have been

Hi Tug Hercules, Please check out your notification settings. if you're using the website hover over your username in the top left, then click Notifications. if you're using the app, the same thing can be done by clicking Settings in the top right, then going to Notifications. This will then list all the instances in which the website will post out an email to you, you can then uncheck anything you're not interested in being notified about. Looking at your notification history I can see many are "New
    update
by" emails. These are pushed out when there are
    update
s to topics you've recently viewed. if it's too much, I recommend unticking the "recently viewed" checkbox. Thanks! Stephen

    Christmas Presents
HI Colin, I've spent this morning investigating the possibilities of adding it to the Simbian OS and have now submitted something to the Nokia store. I don't know how long it will take them to check it, it seems like they follow similar processes as Apple whereby they check new apps being submitted so it could be weeks!! But more likely hours to a few days. *correction, apparently it takes 5 to 7 working days, so it certainly wont be available until next year! I don't have a Nokia phone to test this application out on though, so I can only keep my fingers crossed it will work. Do let me know!! Hopefully I'll receive a notification of it being accepted/declined but have a search anyway. it's a bright yellow Icon!... searchable by just "model boats" and should have the same functionality as the Android and IPhone apps. Having some difficulty with the IPad app at the moment too. But I'll
    update
you all on that if I can get it working. With Apple I wouldn't expect to see it in the store for ages though, they do take their time ๐Ÿ˜‘ That only leaves the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, and the Samsung App World! Why are there so many operating systems!? ๐Ÿ˜› ** App
