San Pedro by Harbor Models! by figtree7nts Fleet Admiral!   Posted: 13 days ago
Oh, I forgot to mention. This will be my first attempt. At a fiber glass model! So, I will be learning and building. At the same time! There will be a lot of questions. Asked of the MBW members....!

Thanks Joe, I have thought of building a sail boat. Or even a sail barge. like what your currently working on. But, I don't have the tools or the space required! As a matter of fact. My next build will have to be my last! As I only have space in my hobby room. For one last model! Maybe two if I squeeze thing's! And I have elected the Tug San Pedro to be the last build! I'm also interested to see how she works. Using a Z Drive at her bow. Should prove to be very maneuverable! When I worked on tugs in New York harbor. I never got the chance to use a Z Drive! It should be a lot of fun! Cheers, Ed

Ed, This is probably my favorite part of a build, deciding what to build! So many great boats out there, how many tugs do you currently have? Just curious.. Do you ever build sailboats? That's how I got started, with sails, like the history and quiet running of course. Glad to see you are jumping on to the next build, I liked your detailed blog on the Brooklyn, very well done. Cheers, Joe

This is a model by Harbor Models! I'm contemplating building her! She'll keep me busy for a few month's! The model will be: Scale: 1:32 Length: 35" Beam: 10" Weight: TBD For now it's just an Idea! What do you think?

Hi Ed.. Thanks for looking and saying I have done a great job👍, not sure if its as good as your San Pedro. it has been a fun build and turned out better than I thought it would, still those little bits to do.. this build has the possibility to continue for a while yet as bits and extra's are added.😊

I look forward to the sea trials. You've done a great job on her!👍 I think she came out better than my San Pedro! Cheers, Ed

The San Pedro was a challenge! But she turned out to be a good boat to build!👍 Oh, before I forget the San Pedro doesn't have much room in the engine room. She's a 30" x 12" but her battery area is small! 5.5" x 4.5" x 4.0" so only one sla can be used!

P.S.. yes I like the one you have, if I had seen the Dumas San Pedro during my search it would have been of interest to me.

I like the flat bottom design! But they do tend to take more weight. Than traditional hulls. I have the Dumas San Pedro. She weighs in at 21 pounds! Needless to say I don't take her out much!
