    (Yacht) Wee Nip
As before, different to sail a single sail as compared to a Bermuda rig . Still, it's fun and easy to sail. Cheers. Ken, thanks for the tip to send a picture as well. I know know how to do it, thanks To Doug. (ESC: Scratch build) (8/10)
    (Yacht) Wee nip.
Made from plans, single sail, totally different to sail than normal Bermuda sail rig, but sails well. (8/10)
(Yacht) Dragon force, micro magic, one metre,
Sails well. They all sail well, depending on the wind (Motor: Wind.) (8/10)

My next intention Nerys, I usually use thinned down varnish to soak into the timber, then sand back ready for a second and third coat. Then put on a full final coat of varnish prior to painting.

I too have built and sailed the WeeNip, brilliant little yacht different sailing skill needed to a Bermuda rig, but hay , what a lot of fun, now passed on to another club member, who enjoys sailing it as well. I also have the the plans for the Bermuda sail rig out fit , but that will be another experience. Cheers, ken.

Glad you and yours enjoyed your day out, and with interest to the Thames barge as well, nice to see the interest spread, he he. I did half plan to go there , but I thought there might be flood problems, so that is what put me off. As I have been a few times in the past I wasn’t to upset about not going, Still, next year to look forward to. Cheers for now Ken.

The only trouble with going to Axminster is I come out feeling very upset, I could spend hundreds of pounds in there, but alas, I don’t have the money or space to to buy what I would like. Roll on the lottery win . She can spend an hour in Tesco and I’ll spend an hour in Axminster.

Thank you for your info Nerys, I’ve made my deck planks
3/8” wide on model, which I think will be about 9” full scale. I’ll thin down some varnish 50/50 so that it soaks in, hopefully the planks will show through, and so will the imitation pitched seams penciled in.
Just wait now for the glue to dry. Fingers crossed.

Sold in sheets, like ply wood or chip board. Used in the building trade, or/ diy.

Ply deck made, but had to do it in two pieces, as I only had 36” lengths of ply. So its one piece from the stern up to the forward hatch, then the rest from there to the bow. Next , I’ll score lines with a scriber to represent the deck planking.
    Cheers for now Ken

Can you put the deck on the work-surface, face down, place the hull upside down on top of the ply deck, draw around the deck, cut out to the marked out line, then trim off to fit??
    Good luck
