Just converted this 40yr old twin brushless model (scratch built from a Vic Smeed plan) to a proper independent twin system plus a sound unit. Started off with a 70s Futaba ESC on 27mhz, then on FM, then replaced with an Electronize unit on FM, then to 2.4 and now on 2.4 with twin ESCs and converted TGY S6 (twin throttles). Maneuvers a lot better and makes a better noise.

Nice job.Great to see a boat running built from a Vic Smeed plan.Should do good in a steering competition with the manouverability you have.Lovely boating pond.

Just trying out the maneuverability of the twin system. First trial so not too precise.

Well this started off brushless but it had no soul or character, I bought an Os 40 fourstroke and converted it to be water cooled, I then made my own reverse gearbox and clutch assembly and fitted a water pump so the engine will keep cool while stationary. It has nav lights and a working searchlight that I can move while running.

Hi Biscuit, I have just watched your video's, nice to see more on the water. I see you have also posted pictures of the Graupner Rhode Island F1 tunnel hull. I also have one of these and as yet have not got around to giving it a run. I do not live near any ponds locally where I can be sure I'm allowed to run my models. 16 miles for an electric isn't far I also have IC powered and the nearest for those is almost 40 miles. I get very disheartened with the hobby but still cannot get it out of my vein's. I curious to know where you have fitted wedges under you Rhode island. What's the chance of posting a few pictures of the under side of her to give me some idea as to how you have done this. It would be nice to see so that I could also give it a go so as to make her a little better on her maiden run. Many thanks in advance and kind regards.

A good but very cold day at Ilfracombe pond yesterday. Nice breeze from the north to keep the yacht going but calm enough for Gordons hydro. beating up the place !

Wow. That model looks real. Either it is a model or very large ducks. Superb detail.😊
