Ron, I think you have enough whirligigs to slow down the
    wind in your area!
There are housing projects growing around here everywhere. The growing population the world over is demanding housing.
I live out in the country with a horse farm behind me and a cattle farm across the road. I am afraid housing industry will be soon knocking on my door.

Well the weather here has warmed some. Now 43 F with 20 MPH winds. Rain coming, which
is better than snow. I will be indoors at the workshop today.

Look for someone in your area who builds aquariums. Get suggestions from them and build one. Turn it upside down and place it over the model.
I would prefer one with a wood frame. Use the same method.

    Ronald,
I have been enjoying watching your progress.
I am very curious how "Emma" will handle with the shorter keel. The lake I use has a very
shallow slope. I have to go out in it quite a distance to have clearance for just a one foot deep
    keel.
I have the plans for two of Gary's boats and have cut out the parts to build but have been mulling over the deep keel as designed. I also had thoughts along the line you are perusing
    for the keel.
I had also thought about making a set of "B" sails to handle the stability of a shorter keel.
So, I will be delighted to see what results you find.

    Steve,
You might try cleaning the plastic with alcohol before using epoxy. Slightly roughen the areas you will glue with fine sandpaper.
Try it on a piece of scrap. Some plastics seem to have a coating on them from the manufacturing process.
I hope this helps, good luck and you are doing a nice job on the boat!
