Well thats Lifeboat done for another year. Not so many members of the public around this year. All the boaters seemed to have enjoyed themselves and took there boats home In one bit. Many thanks the SMBC members who once again helped to set the day up and put all away at the end. Cheers chaps. We are still counting up the pennies but It was a good effort by all. Till next year !
HI Ive just been taking a look at this posting. Don't mess about with brush motors! I have fitted to my Slipway Tamar 2 Turnigy 1250Kv brushless motors, Hobbyking 50amp ESC and two 5 maH Lipos. 35mm props 3 blade brass type. I can't run It flat out as It tries to leap out of the water Its that much power. The ESC can be water cooled but as they don't get hot without water I don't cool them. The batteries last about 40 mins. The motors are £20 a pop and the ESC are around £16 each. I'm never going to use a brushed motor In a model boat again.
What a lovely day. The sun came out which always helps when you want model boaters to come along and play for the day. We had visitors from Luton MBC and others which had driven miles to find us. Thanks. The IC boys ran there boats till 11am then the scale took over with a short IC demo run just after midday. We now have a buddy box system so you can drive a real IC boat at the club so If you want to try our boat pop down on Sundays. Some members of the public gave It ago as well as some scale boaters. Most came away with a big smile on there face. SMBC set Luton MBC a challenge to make a bottle boat or two and then give us a race. Well give 20 model boaters some old pop bottles and It kept them amused. I said It was going to be fun. Chuck out your rc money pits and try a bottle boat. The day came to a close at 4pm with a few sunburnt body parts we made our way home happy. A very big THANK YOU to all who made the effort to turn out. BILL WARDER Chairman SMBC.

All that said Jeff dose update the dates on this web site. Thanks Jeff. Our Funday Is Indeed tomorrow Sunday 18th . IC and fast electric boats are welcome till 11.00 am the scale boats till 4.pm Why not pop down with your boats or even just come down and say hello. Happy boating.
[Score: 8/10] 52"/5000g Arun 52" Capable of 8mph and a runtime of 60mins Twin Propellors (3 Blade 60mm) Geared to a Honda UMK (3 Blade) Powered by LiPoly (11.1v) 5Amp/h Batteries - Comments: I wanted to put an IC petrol engine In the MBD Arun lifebaot ever since I frist set eyes on It. now I have done It and had a chance to sort out the bugs In the drive. It has a custom made gearbox made for mr by Harold my friend and a Honda UMK engine which needed some TLC from ebay . It all works fine now. The boat has loads of workin stuff on It . Pop In to Stevenage MBC on Sunday morn If you would like to see her going.
