Thanks Chris, thatโs helpful - Iโd come to the same conclusion! Yes, it needs to be underwater (itโs for an RC shark Iโm building) but Iโm working on using a waterproof box instead for the servo, just in case the submerged time is longer than 30 mins.. do you know if these boxes are commercially available?

And here are the servos with tape on as suggested ๐
Any idea why the travel is so โnotchyโ when operating them?

Thanks Roy, I did as you suggested and it works! When turning left (submerged) the right thruster seems to jump to full throttle for some reason, not sure why..

Thanks both, itโs worked with mixing servos, Iโm just about to try it with brushless ESCs. Do I need to follow the โone power leadโ rule if plugging in to the mixer instead of the RX?

Hi, bought two of these for my RC shark, I need to mix two brushless motors and two servos. They donโt have wiring diagrams ๐ any suggestions as to how to wire them up please? Iโll be using a Futaba 6EX-PCM 1024 as itโll be under water (hopefully!) thanks in advance..

It was from Amazon Pete, unfortunately the decoy I bought is no longer available - as you can see! I then cut a hole in the top for access and fitted the electronics..

๐ Mixing servos using a 40mhz TX

Hi all, working on my RC Shark and need to mix the two servos controlling the side fins, firstly to operate individually as marine ailerons (to roll the shark) but then to operate in tandem as elevators to control the pitch of the shark. Using a 40mhz setup (for underwater use). Question - can I use a mixer e.g. Mtroniks v tail to mix the two servos over 2 TX channels? Thanks in advance - hope the drawing helps..๐

Hi, looking to modify โJet Swanโ to โStealth Swanโ with the addition of two brushless motors with props. Question:- will the two new ESCs need the red power lead removing before plugging into the receiver and if so, will they operate OK? Thanks in advance!

Many thanks Toradog, thatโs really helpful. I think a few of our โolderโ members may still have 40mhz kit ๐
Would I be able to use a standalone mixer on the rudder and throttle, to power two thrusters? Iโm used to a modern 2.4 GHz TX that can mix on the radioโฆ thanks again

Hi all, sorry if Iโm duplicating a thread, but Iโm trying to get some guidance on buying a 900mhz TX/RX set for my great white shark.. itโs potentially going to be-submersible and Iโm told 2.4ghz wonโt work under water..
Any guidance/links appreciated!
Thanks,
Eric

Hi all, wondered if anyone had any advice/info on the setup I'd need for these type of dual rudders? I realise a hovercraft is a tenuous link to model boats but at least it's on water ๐คฃ I've just bought this hovercraft and would like to change the rudders to the becker type to give more control (especially for stopping, rather than just throttling down so it increases friction with the ground!) Any help gratefully received... here's the YouTube link:

Thanks Dave, yes - they're very similar, just slightly different button setup but with the same tech inside I think! I'm using Mode 2 with throttle on the left and rudder on the right. Ideally I'd like individual proportional control of the motors without input from the rudder, but realise this may not be possible without the upgrade that BobbyN has suggested!
Look forward to hearing more ๐

Thanks Bobby, I'm now in touch with the seller so hoping to be able to get the upgrade sent over to the UK, I'll keep everyone posted on this as I'm guessing it may be of interest generally - I've certainly not seen anything like it over here! Please do keep me in touch with any other similar developments (i.e. Spektrum) too. Thanks again.. Eric๐

Thanks Dave, Iโm using a few TXs but mainly a flysky FS-T6 and i6.
Iโve got a W-tail mixer from Mtroniks I was going to try, but would quite like some more independent control of each outboard. Any help with mixing on the radio gratefully received!

Thanks Mark, you mean you split the output into two? I was assuming Iโd do the same. My motors are brushed too (although very high speed!)
