Flying in a gyro copter I felt wind on my right shoulder. Expecting the craft to roll a bit I was ready on the stick. The roll never came. In an airplane it woukd move the wing n the stick movement compensates. Well like a dummy I wa ready. I said to instructor that was heavy wind but we didnโ€™t budge. He says idiot itโ€™s a GYRO copter. The gyro effect keeps it stable. On RC Helis I use a gyro to keep it stable. So if we use a RC airplane it heli gyro I guess it would keep it upright n not bothered by rolls. Anyone try it? On the Navy ship DE 1040 Garcia we had side fins to compensate the rolling. The gyro fir RC is small the size of a Rc receiver it has no moving parts. It works to control servos. So my point is if I have side fins controlled by servo and corrected by a RC gyro it should stabilize rolling? If I build a gyro that spins it woukd be larger n more complex. Iโ€™m wondering if a sailboat could use this technique best? What u think. Btw Iโ€™m surprised all motor full size boats donโ€™t have that white box.

Looks really good. I saw the movie ship duplicate in San Juan Puerto Rico. Met and became a friend years later of the first mate. When ship sank she moved to Boston n lived in the harbor on a sailboat. We both were working on a scifi convention talking about San Juan. Then realized we were talking of same friend. Then realized we knew each other. The years change your appearance. She got married several years back n now is on dry land. I got to stand on the deck n see the ship. Itโ€™s more complex on rigging. They had radios n a motor/ propeller built in that version. I never could see myself up the rigging on the sails. A good subject to model.

You might seek a 600 size at hardware Store aluminum angle then drill 3 holes use a flex coupling. I had in the past some from electric gliders. Other motor that is more powerful is the brushless motors. Most esc available up to higher amps ( make sure they can go in both directions, airplanes only fly one direction no revers, look at ones fir Rc cars. You can equivalent a motor size like a gas engine 35 to a brushless one. Even chain saw 1/4 ho ones can be found. You have a speed boat so what size engine a brushless is a better match. Also most Esc have a nicad or lipo swatch. Lipo can get better volts n amps. You might need two packs in series to get voltage for motor. Check it out I did an aircraft with a 1/4 ho electric Battery packs were big. It had less weight over all too

I did my rudder differently but got same results. Twin motor same as mine. Part 28 I see is a doorway that we didnโ€™t have. The wall was flat. Got more inside space as that was mess hall n kitchen areas. Rails outside those doors were mahogany clear coated. On other side was a drum that hung. It was spare water and painted yellow for some reason. I redid the pilot house as it wasnโ€™t rounded. I spent a lot of time in there at sea steering. Also at a big locker under the front pilot house windows. Good place to eat lunch on deck. The front firmer in hull was on left where bathroom was. On right storage. Wonder it your boat had same? Wonderful watching your build. I didnโ€™t plank deck just clear coated n stained. Used salt water on real one to wash n bleach wood. Cheers

This is what that ship looked like before Cousteau retro fitted it. Note the deck at the mid n stern. You can see where they used same lines n cutouts. Side view is same for main cabin as the mess hall was forward n aft officers quarters n mess. The stern deck has two circles that is access to rudders. You can hook up cables there and steer the ship. We did that once as a drill. Cables ran forward a bit and a vertical rod attached. It could move rudders left n right. Two guys push n pull vertical rod. There is a small sonar dome that was retractable (itโ€™s on my model) I would think Jaque would have it it updated version. The undersea now observation port is under anchor chain locker I suppose.

Your doing great on the build.

Sorry to hear this. Iโ€™m MA all but one hobby shop has gone. Iโ€™m buying old kits n building them. On line mostly. The last hobby shop here was in Marlboro. The owner couldnโ€™t get a buyer. I even tried but no bank would help. When he closed he gave me a few nice large kits n I bought others at his cost. We have one Rc store in FoxBoro and a plastic kit shop near there. When my kids were on tour with band in Europe n Australia I had them look for kits. I got a 3D printer from grandson as he had no interest anymore. Built parts with it for some ships. I tried an airplane but it took forever for a part to print. It is expensive n as you say China you cant compete with. It is sad the company is going away.

Got to see the Bounty replica used in movie. When I lived in Puerto Rico it was in port a lot. The lady that ran the crew thru a friend introduced me to her. I got a tour. She was on it up until it sank. Then she moved to Boston n lived on a big sailboat. Last heard she had 2 boats n sold them after getting married n lives on dry land in Masssachusetts. The ship was amazing but had all the modern nav gear n bathrooms. Auxiliary power too. I still canโ€™t figure how they move the sails to get it all working. They did have power wenches disguised

Iโ€™m using flashcloud and thier printer. They gave meds slicer software so I could cut parts I donโ€™t need out. The support structures are a pain. I couldnโ€™t make decent railings as I couldnโ€™t get the garbage away. I use plastic as well as light weight filaments. Both have thier problems. In the end it works for ship parts. I did an entire sub it took days to get parts run.

F25? Iโ€™m guessing it had open gun mount n bridge was not like ours. They had rum we had Coca Cola a little swapping worked well.

My DE in 1:96 for rails ordered from Tomโ€™s model works. I 3D the doors, guns, ASROC, bits, anchors, small boats, heli deck nets and side fins. I found sailors on some kids n did eBay sailors too. There is so much out there pay or free for 3D. Once you have a file you can adjust its scale Or play with it. I would try to find online free stuff. The printer is about $300-$600 and reels are $25-$30. I tried 3D rails but they didnโ€™t work I used brass or plastic rod as rail support as t is very fragile. Loved doing the 3D I used my grandsons printer he loaned me.

You have a nice powerful engine n esc. If hooked up n it runs backwards just swap one of the 3 wired to motor. It will make a cool outboard running on a 1200 ma or 2000 ma battery all u need is a servo to move engine left ir right otherwise rudder is needed.

RNinMunich your right except we are being invaded in the name of that religion. It isnโ€™t Isreal it is the western world! In USA we have millions that crossed the border n not vetted if health checked. Almost all makes of military age. We feed, cloth, give then cash cards, free laundry in the hotels n all benefits each state offered. Meanwhile our vets n homeless are on streets. They go in groups n kick or hit with sticks the citizens. All they knew was chaos n now cause it here. It is worse in Europe, Japan and Australia. It isnโ€™t against one religion itโ€™s against all who are not them. They have come to west illegally for benefits and a larger number for religion. If your not of them your an infidels and will be taken out. I agree we wonโ€™t be here to see but our family will. Iโ€™m buying more kits befire they get outlawed n our ponds taken over. Our parks have been here in Massachusetts already. Stay safe all you model ship sailors n vigilant. Hobby shops closing, paint supplies dwindle as well as materials like Balsa. Sorry to put this out there but it does effect our hobby!

I had sane problem after a dozen years in Puerto Rico I became accustomed to weather. Moved back to Massachusetts n I freeze in summer.

Iโ€™m just about done with my DE1040 Garcia 5 foot ship. I have printed the side stabilizer paddles n will put on next. A few paint touch ups n itโ€™s finally done. I need to build the DASH drone as final part.

It looks beautiful. I sold last year a boiler made here in Massachusetts. It worked on AC power. I thought I could convert it to using stereo to heat it. I decided to just sell it off. It was made in early 1900. It worked n had a piston motor n flywheel.

Iโ€™m not sure what you have but check on Exosomes. They are a stem cell derivative for regenerative medical. It can rejuvenate a lot of things like organs, skin, muscle, bone. In USA a process called PrP can make it from your blood. Overseas you can get it from a few places as rules easier. There is one company that has fda approved drug master file approval. It has no dna or live cells n is the only one you can use in USA. It has been shipped overseas to a few countries and they export licenses. I have friends who used it with good results. One fixed his knee so he didnโ€™t need knee replacement. It worked very fast. Read up on it Google exosones therapy for ( fill in whatever you have as problem) your born with exosomes t birth but they slow down after about 50 yrs. I would look at the injectable form for best results. It is real n the newest medical field rejuvenation of inflammation of cells. It has as a side effect nothing except it wonโ€™t fix disease your born with in some cases. Do some research on Google sorry to hear of your situation.

I served aboard USN Lorikeet MSCO-49 in early 60โ€™s. My uncle served too aboard and was my boss as navigator. I was helmsman. It was parked next to the Colgate clock sign in NJ side of Hudson River in NYC. I wanted to build a model but my uncle told me Calypso was made from a MSCO. I got that kit for a few hundred on eBay. I started with the hull. Had to redo the bow. Did the deck. I redid with wood n plastic card the wheelhouse and engine room. After that just did detailing. I also did kit bash of a smaller model years back but the calypso really went well just went backwards in time. Hope this could help I still have pics of the real one but there is a lot online. The mine sweeping gear I know n used to set up. I knew every inch of that ship.
