Well thanks for the advice guys๐, using a rotary tool i got from Lidl with what looks like a tiny circular saw blade it cut out just great ,i used masking tape and drew the cut lines where they were needed ,it worked best when not running the tool too fast as this just melted the edges and i ended up welding the join back up !. so slow and easy made it a joy to do , and no cracks ! ๐
Next on the to-do list is find a motor, the plans call for a "540 motor", when i put this in to Ebay there are a wide variety, any good reliable brands or are they all the same ? Tia

Hi, this is my next project a Billings Boats Blue Star , my wife found an almost complete unstarted kit at the car boot sale and bought me a present :-) . The Hull and deck are ABS mouldings and they need to be trimmed to size and fit , does anyone know the best way to trim ABS parts without cracking ? Thanks in advance

Yes๐ it was excellent, I have never seen so many models in one place before, they even had an indoor pool so we could watch the models in action the trade stands had many bargains and show specials , I bought a Tony Green live steam engine kit to power a future build ,alll in all a great day out ๐.
