I built a R/C model of Dido's sister ship HMS Euryalus details of which which appeared in the excellent " Model Boats " magazine of March 2017. I live in South Africa and we do not have access to hobby shops and suppliers of model ship components. As a result model ship enthusiasts such as myself are obliged to fashion all detailed components. If the model is going to be a model that will be sailed on water, may i suggest that you consider coating the hull with fibre glass. I have used this method on my fleet of eleven R/C scratch built scale model warships over the past 47 years. The models remain intact and waterproof.

Suggest you cote with fibre glass resin. The resin should seal the hull.

Suggest you coat with glass fibre epoxy resin. This resin should seal the hull.
