Sorry to hear that Colin, mine is lower back with trapped nerves which gives server pain down my left leg, hopefully they can remove a small amount to release the nerves. Cheers.

I will measure them tomorrow and see what size they are if they are over 30mm I will get some smaller ones. I have borrowed a pair of 12v 7ah SLA batteries do you think they would be more appropriate for this set.

    Cheers Jon.

Hi Dave, Thanks for the info, I have managed to borrow two 12 volt lead acid sealed batteries from a club member so I will try them. The thre bladed props are definitely smaller than motors.
    Cheers Jon.

Hi, It sounds like you have the same model Fairmile D that I have it is definitely the same length and scale 1/24th. I think i will have to run her on two 12 volt batteries. I will keep it mind and mention at the local club meeting.

    Thanks Jon

Hi, I wonder if someone can help i have run my Fairmile a couple of times and it lacks power and runs 7.2 volt batteries flat in no time. I am running four Kestral motors with a power range between 4.8 to 12 volts, RPM @ 6v 5500 free running amps 3 amp, Spec 5 Pole.
I am running two motors on one 7.2 volt Battery on one Speed controller and the other two on a seperate speed controller with a Y lead joining the two and the red wire disconnected on one of them. I am guessing the battery power is not enough, can anyone advise what batteries i need two run the motors on please.

    Cheers Jon

Please Andy I hope you did not take my comments the wrong way, I really enjoyed your build of Katie it turned out to be a beautiful boat and looked great on the water. I think the main problem i have with the build is the finding of parts for it as I have never built anything like this before but I will probably end up keeping Her and building it along side the Tamar Lifeboat I am now building which came as a complete kit.

    Kindest Regards Jon.

Thanks Trev , That is how i fitted them and the motors all running in same direction but the boat gives out a load of wash from the rear so i am guessing the rotation is incorrect.

Hi, If anyone is interested My Hull, accessories and a full set of cotton professionally made sail set of four by Nylet which i am waiting for to be finished and delivered. I have started work on the hull and have some photos of the woodwork already done, i have also fitted a motor and prop shaft for those days when the wind drops. I am open to offers but bare in mind the sail cost me about Β£400. Due to ill health and injury on my spine.

HI folks, Can anyone tell me where I might get plans for a 1/16 scale Severn lifeboat, I have tried a few but know one answers my emails, I suppose I could use plans in a different scale if I have too.

Hi Andy, As much as i would love to finish my Katie, I think my Surgeon might have put the mockers on that today, i will have to think about building a static version as i could have problems with a boat which is heavy to carry but we will see.

Hi Andy, A very beautiful job so far Buddy looking forward to next steps but be careful and mind your fingers. As a matter of interest have you made the main mast diameter as per plan, difficult to tell from photo's.
