The " Tack " is part of the front of the sail at the bottom front corner. between the Luff and the Clew, the cord that attaches the Tack to the boom ifi recall is called a " Grommet ", ropes are called Halyards.
A Tack can also be a term for the action of sailing into the wind and moving forward, this is called Beating or Tacking.

π Question of the Day?

I agree Roycv, my first instinct is to go full astern and try and get off. Incase its a falling tide, if you stop and discuss options you could really get stuck, other option is of course to learn to read a chart or actually have one for where your cruising and by taking depth soundings to will alleviate getting stuck, of course if you go blindly about you deserve all you get by putting another crew in possible jepody comming to your rescue.

I have been told 9v PPE batteries don't work well in an RC Boat. I assume people thought I was going to use a 500mah battery, I want to use 4 x 12800mah 9v PPE batteries, is my idea a go or no go, if so why please explain?

I was going for the actual correct answer, brain was activated, target allocation was acquired, calculations worked out for wind velocity and direction, controlled my breathing, relaxed and comfortable, rechecked my proposed answer for correct selection, then carefully placed my index finger on the answer, touched " are you sure " and got the wrong answer......i realised i had had an issue and totally missed my proposed aiming point...

Having read numerous posts Bout the pro's and con's of Lipo batterys and realise they can be abit of a liability.
Therefore on this tact what does everyone think to the Pro's and Con's of using 2 banks of 2x 9V PPE batteries......2x 9v..6800mah. 18v each bank. 1 set for the motor, the other for ancillary steering etc. Or am I barking up the wrong trè again, I have step up and step down converters to handle different voltages required.

You might have to scratch build a light, 3mm flashing LED's are fairly bright and colourfull for the glass you could use part of a ballpoint pen with a see-through blue barrel

I use a food containers with a clip on top, I put a false floor in it to mount all the 'lectrics and a fan on the lid should things get warm, that is the only way wet stuff can get In.any cables exit via a hole fitted with a rubber grommets sealed with silicon, Box is then screwed down inside.π€πππ

I was just curious as I was going to control a boat with 2 channels, then decided when I found out I could reprogrammed the Transmitter for up to 8 channels at least, I thought I could add other accessories. I have a 3 channel receiver I jut wanted to bind another 3 channel receiver to make 6 channels. Clearly I have received mixed responses which I thank you for, I guess I'll update the transmitter and obtain a dedicated 6 channel receiver, unless there is a way to use an extra 3 channel, time will tell. I do gave a limited budget.....
