DWBrinkmann, the convention here in ontario, Canada, is that the name of the boat is above the name of the port on the stern and the registration numbers are on each side of the prow. Occasionally you will see the name of the boat Midway down the side, but that is less common as typically the manufacturer has put some huge deckle in that spot. My first guess was that Krabbe was the name of his Home harbour

Thank you for the pictures!! It is so costly to get these kits shipped from Florida all the way up to Canada and imported, not to mention the difference on the dollar, that last time I ordered a few of the kits at the same time along with the 650 KV brushless Motors and of course the drivetrains so I probably have several winters of projects. You have done a very creative thing with the superstructures ๐๐๐

Commodore h I would love to see some more pictures of that lovely Springer tug that is in the background, in fact there are a number of us on here that are avid tug people that I'm sure they would also like to see a number of shots of it

Looks wonderful on the water. I adore your lights...& at least with it being a dull day we can actually see them in operation. You just ignited my excitement for the new year's sailing season.
So...you arent going to run tomorrow??
Our last sail here in Toronto was mid-Nov, 16th i believe was our #32 at Bluffers Park for 2023.
Happy New Year to all.

The "glue" isnt an adhesive, it is a solvent that actually "melts" a thin layer of the adjacent Plexiglas sheets & they ended up "welded" to each other. The clamps, being another material, will not stick to the joint.

Clyde Puffers typically have their rudder hanging 'way out the back, with the pintles on the very, very aft edge of the stern. Also the exhaust stack wud be just forward of the wheelhouse, whether steam or diesel, as the motor is always far aft. I own 2, with a 3rd under construction.

This is the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. The least number of hours of daylight. Effective tomorrow we will have more Daylight everyday, approximately 2 to 3 minutes more. This means that Spring is coming, and it will be model ship weather "soon"

I have some notes, The Vessel being towed should show a white light all around visible to 3 MI. Then I found two different situations regarding the light, the tow light, on the towing vessel where it should be aft facing and yellow whereas the other opinion was white, red, Green or yellow all round and visible to 3 MI my other notes confirm the previous comments

LewZ, your anti-vibration foam pad is an excellent idea. Keeps the saws from moving around & absorbs the vibration noises, essential in condo/apt living.

Looks like a very neat installation. I dont understand why you need boost converters since you hav a 7.4V supply & LED lighting can be run off lesser voltages by changing the Ohmic value of their individual ballast resistors. Or is there something i've failed to grasp??๐ค

PhilH, yes i get everything i think. I delete same stuff as Ron just said, but other msgs i always scroll to the top & change the red dot to green so that i receive all msgs in that thread, that ongoing discussion. So...i see abt 10 to 20 msgs per day. & 95% i learn something new, worthwhile. Much better than FB. Cheers, Rod in Toronto, Canads ๐

Steven T, what you have just described sounds a bit like the American PT boats of World War II especially in the Pacific, but also the American river boats used in Vietnam for patrolling Coastal Waters and river deltas and up into the rivers themselves. Sometimes a mortar attached just below the front machine gun making it look like a double barrel with the lower Barrel being perhaps 10 cm. Pro boat produced two different kinds of RTR, a smaller one which is now out of production and a larger one right now that actually has twin props and twin rudders. The smaller one years ago had two jet drives

My Bristol Bay is in relatively pristine condition. The rigging is original, I have the masts and sales and the navigation lights all still work. The radio is in the 75 megahertz band so I am stuck with a long antenna on the TX. Overall that I have seen on Kijiji or eBay are locking the rigging but have the masts and no sales or they have neither. Please forgive my spelling, I am using voice to text conversion

Every item that I consider putting in the garbage or into recycling is something that I look at with an eye towards using it in one of my hobbies. I recently visited a ship modeler who builds RC combat ships, the ones that actually fire BB's at each other, and he had used bottle caps inverted to form the armor around gunners. I keep plastic containers from ready to eat food, if they are clear and unscratched I use them for flat windshield glass, if they are too curved I use them as Parts trays rather than buy something new from Dollarama

Google "image of radar dish antenna" & you will find something similar.
Any opening in the surface of the dish must be smaller than 1/10th of the wavelength of the operating frequency of the dish antenna. Hence those elliptical openings probably disqualify them for use as modern radar antennas.
In WW2 the vertical curtain multiple-dipole arrays that guarded the southern coast of England operated around 27-28MHz which is now the 10m Amateur Radio band worldwide. Those curtain arrays had huge spaces between elements but functioned as a flat sheet antenna becuz they had openings less than 1/10 wavelength in width/height.
