Evening all. I’ve not been active for a while due to one thing and another, recently I’ve decided to do a retake in the sarik hobbies (bold pursuer) torpedo boat as the previous one I did I wasn’t happy with the overall finish. So far Im happy with the progress this time around. Loads still to do.

    Thanks for reading

Yes Colin I do try and teach them to behave accordingly around water, even more so because I can’t swim. That wouldn’t deter me from jumping in after them tho haha. Yes they are pretty good I just say. I’ve fallen in a couple of times, just as well it’s shallow ish around one edge.
    Cheers Jordan.

Been a little slow on the updates recently, finished off a few small details and sealing ect, applied some colour over the last 2 days, she is by no means perfect as reflected in the overall finish but hopefully with a couple more bits to do she will be ready for first float test and ballasting ect.

Few small details added this evening. So slight work needed on the hull before sealing too.

Good morning gentlemen. I have come to the stage in my build if the US army tug boat from model boats magazine where he done an early
Float test, he sealed the hull using dope and tissue however I have none of this to hand and am doing this build on a budget as it’s for my youngest son. The float test was done before the prop tube was fitted and sealed over with adhesive tape to prevent leakages as stated in his article. I was wondering if a layer of clear varnish would work to seal the hull allowing a brief test to sort ballasting? Allowing me to sand back when it’s finally time for paint.

    Regards
    Jordan.

Okay so over the couple of days I have done a bit of work on the us army tug, hull shaping ect, I think it’s turned out pretty well for a novice. The cable ties really helped with keeping the shape while the glue dried with the help of a few pins. Bit more filling/sanding to do and a few finer details then look at sealing it all up ready to finally get started on superstructure and detail/paint. Can’t wait to get this one on the water, it’s going to be a gift for my 2 young children who enjoy watching me build. Still plenty to do yet but definitely making steady progress.

Evening all, I was looking for a bit of advice on the best way to cover the outer of my hull framing? I tried using vertical strips of balsa however that proved ineffective 😬 any suggestions please? Would be much appreciated.

I have included some pictures showing the method I tried 🀣 please excuse my apparent lack of skill!

A little progress made on the harbour rug over the weekend, mainly sizing up of the motor and bit of hull work I’m aware the prop is far too long just for angle reference😁 I did however carry on after these pictures will post more pics later on today. 😊

Thank you! Carbon paper is how I did the lines for my fast patrol boat I was curious if there were any other good ways of doing it. I may get some tracing paper and a pack of A4 paper and cut the templates without defacing the plan itself.
