    A recent acquisition shed restoration project, need plans any out there or any photos have a box of bits not sure about the color at moment, two props hole is there for three, and rudders, hull is sound

    Sister boat to Forties shore model by PBM models
    Acquired this boat as a sister boat to my other PBM model boat of St Albans of the late 1970s both were made of balsa and wood this one has nothing in her apart from twin props and part of a bow thruster, the top fore deck part is well made the rest not so a real winter project to get them both into working order

    Cruiser tug boat Mountfleet models
    The cruiser tug boat came with my other recent purchase this one has all its lights etc just battery boxes to sort out and we are set up I hope, that's all done with new components added, sound to be added or not owing to a duff product I bought, so a plan b added a smoke unit insted.

    1/32nd tug boat bought recently I know little about this boat other than it’s a Imara and that the fact that apart from the motor and rudder servo every thing else is missing so much work to do

    This boat I have since found out is a modified Forties shore model from PBM of St. Albans made in the 1980s. The motive power is a windscreen wiper motor through a gearbox to drive both props it has a sound unit The wiring is a bit of a mess and under the wiring is a 7hr battery

    Thames Richmond boat Co. boat
    Aquired this boat some time ago I take it its some form of kit deck fitings have the look of a home made one 7.4 volt I have since found out in the late 1950s Richmond boats made models of there actual Cabin crusiers for there customers children 24 was made in all so in every thing a bit of history boat story comes out

    Mocca class 1881
    This boat is an unknown all-wood scratch built of an unusual prototype The Mocca class built by Thorneycraft at Chiswick they were the prototype of torpedo boats with a single locomotive boiler two torpedos in the tubes and two spares on the deck to the rear of the tubes The motor fitted does not work so have replaced this and the speed controller and radio

    A recent gain to the fleet is a model with a smoke unit and sound unit and now a new motor and speed controller, with recent balancing we had to add a lot of weight to gain the right trim

    Vivacity Cabin Cruiser Roxanne no 3
    A recent acquisition from a club member she is big and chunky all wood construction she has been identified as a Smeed design Vivacity she is 61 x17so tad bigger than the standard 54 inch a nice model of a classic design powered by two 6 v batterys

    Pilot boat San Juan Bay no 2
    a nice boat with working lights and radar she goes well fitted 2.4 ghz like all my boats have its run by a 7.4v NiMiH battery and auxiliary battery for the lights etc following a dind with a concrete pond side i have fitted rubber edges to the boat just like the real thing

    can any one tell me is three rudders preferable with three props I have currently one and if i do it as three how do i change it to three loads of room at the rear

    PERKASA NO3 1/24th
    This boat is a car boot find all for 20.00 a bargin. luckly I have quite a few of the parts in my boxes its a kit built one out of plywood and Balsa wood, I am going to alter the hull so it has three motors I have three 850 motors I like to use brushed motors it has twin rudders fitted the mid part of the boat is almost there so with few holes to fill and a repaint should be good place to start

    Unknown protype naval boat
    In the back of a picture of a Mtb from ww2. I found a rough drawing and notes to a 75x 25 foot mtb prototpe experimental boat she had a unusual engine two merlin engine on one prop, a rear gun with a revoling turret using 8 hispanno cannon units in one block with a turret sweep of 60 degrees and a larger forward gun any ideas anyone be fun to make it intials BW on the sketch on rough faded paper

    KD Perkasa 48 inch version
    This a recent acquisition its a wooden kit some radio gear inside but all rather dated the mid section seems well made the body shell has a few issues the port side forward has this kink in the wood work and a sharp edge at the bottom of the tip outer skin see photos its dimensions is 48 by12 seems a bit is missing is this just a scale up version of the 35 inch one by PRECEDEHT this a single motor version

    This model is a kit of some sort it has a few issues with putting it on the water the top comes off in one bit so I have put the build as follows 1/ The hull is minus every thing inside I am not sure if I need to add more compartments its float test was not good its top heavy 2/ Props

    this is a here is one some made earlier, its a wooden ribbed hull the planked and veneers in wooden planks and painted and varnished,the tiller flat is made from a fruits de exotic box the wis from what ever was to hand a real on board ship job its driven by a big brushed motor with single prop with oiled prop tube the hull is weighted with 8 oz forward and four match boxes of lead low down ether side of the hull

    Kiel craft 43 inch Raf tender
    This boat was made from the first batch of models in the 1960 it's well built and along the way has lost a few white metal parts and middle floor section and the odd dinged from storage.the boat was never finished as its maker went on to other projects I got as far as testing it in bath doesn't leak so now we will start on its rebuild Neil very kindly me sent me the plans for the boat and i have acquired set of scaled down 43 inch plans to 34 so that helps a bit

    This a kit built in the 1960s its a all wood kit and about to start to prepare for hull refurbishments following some excellent blogs on this site it has inspired me to start on its restoration my first question is if i repaint the hull the top black is in good condition but just matt black what do i do varnish or repaint

    Well, it's been one of those days plugged in the Mitroniks speed controller as per the diagram and no sound and pop that was the end of that so much for having sound and at £70.00 a expensive mistake, it wasn't a short as the rest without it works fine

    As ever things never go to plan now have had a lot of weight 38lbs to get the trim right whilst that's on going. I am adding new wiring a speed controller and the sound unit by Mytronics with Rc switches

    yes it does on my barge but salt one water areas used have a different coating the white line on the rudder is interesting the Great Lake barges must go along with part of there rudder out of the water mind you have seen a barge hit tug because he didn't see the rudder

    Following a recent trip to Falmouth docks a tug there is painted copper/red paint on the bottom 1/3rd and the rudder is red also above is black

    Following its rebuilding after its Titanic type Today at the pond we flew across the pond not sure what the birds on the lake thought of this grey dart coming at them but most pleased with its running nice to have something different

    It has been suggested that tug hulls are all black and that red oxide wasn't painted on some of my Mountfield models Crusier being one that should have a black hull and no red help please from some learned person
