Always fancied one of these, arrived today slightly worse for wear.
Here's why I do mad trips to collect in person, whoever packed it sat it on top of the Tx, the sticks punched holes through the hull !!! Never mind, it was due a refit and paint job.
No more acquisitions, I now have enough lined up top keep me out of mischief for the next year or two (did I have something crossed as I wrote that ?).

Collected the same day as the Rapier, a 500+ mile round trip (I know, mad). Out with the old power unit, a HP 61+ silencer (for sale if anyone's interested), ready for a brushless of some kind, any suggestions what size would be best suited ?

Finally getting to fit out my Sea Queen. It has an old copper pipe scoop from whenever, but I'm now debating doing away with it and replacing it with a "flush" intake and a pump to ensure enough water intake.
Any thoughts ?

It sure is. I wanted a Rapier, was directed to one for sale and was confused when a much smaller than expected crate arrived. The Rapier turned out to be a Stiletto lol. Size in this case did matter, always ask !!!!

Wow, those motors look like they have done the rounds. I like how you have set the rudder under the transom, I was thinking of sticking mine on the stern, more "outrigger" style. How does it steer with your set up ?

Hi Chris,
Well done, she looks great on the water. Would you consider a "model" person steering ? I know it's something not everyone agrees with and if you get it wrong, can ruin the whole look of a model, but open cockpit's look odd when unoccupied. That apart, great finish.

Those mounts are so "clever", there's no way I could justify the expense of a motor in each model. Two bolt's and a coupling screw, and it's next model please, so simple. At least 3 of my fleet can use 1 motor. The Sea Queen has it's own monster, so that's half of them seen to already.
What would you say to the motor and ESC in the enclosed pics, would that be "man" enough for the Rapier/Javelin/Sportsman ?
Steve.

Hi Zooma,
Thanks for the motor suggestion. Any help is good, the last time I had anything to do with electrics was 1969, the best back then does not even compare with todays brushless beauties.
Had fun getting the Javelins fuel tank out this morning. It was quite chunky and half filled the mid section and had been fastened in with resin. I feared I might wreck the hull, but after a lot of persuasion, it came out ! Now I can clean the interior out ready for the refit.
Even though this boat is a little worse for wear, it is such a lovely shape. I look forward to the day she gets on the water and shows what she can do.
Steve.

Hi Will,
It's in need of a spruce up generally, maybe a change of colour. Spray/chine rails as well. I'm going to fit a new motor mount The water cooled one, and will eventually do so in all the Lesro boats, one decent motor to swap in and out as needed. Too expensive to kit them all individually. Same with the radio gear.
Just cleaned out the local DIY store of all their pipe fittings to make similar stands for the fleet, even that adds up to a few quid, as we know, nothing is cheap nowadays.
Still working on the Sea Queen, been sidetracked a bit due to wife's knee replacements, but she has almost got to the stage where I can vanish back downstairs to my cave for reasonable lengths of time again, so can get things back on track. I want her on the water this summer, the SQ that is, not the wife !
Hope you are keeping well ? What are you working on at the moment ? Have you decided which of your fleet are moving on yet ?
Steve
