    Hi Dainesh,

This looks a good solution that confirms to the 2018 change in regulations.

Please do you happen to have a parts list (or kit) as I wish to build this circuit

    Many thanks Tall Paul.

It’s looking good with great colouring and all its bits.
    I had the 46” version … a bit underpowered but I did
Enjoy sailing it. Hope you have successful sails.

Dead reckoning can be measured using three accelerometers for up/down, left/right, forward and backwards, each signal can then be integrated for velocity and then integrated again for position. Position found using dead reckoning.

Worked on these and on gyro systems such as those used on the V2 and later missiles.

Have just tested new motors, props, ESCs with a Vmixer, steering is fantastic, can turn either way on a sixpence.

Would still like pictures please of where the fittings should go on the deck.

Hi folks, I’ve been trying to find images of Canadian pusher tug kit sold by Hunter Systems.

The kit comes with quite a few accessories but I can’t find where they need to go … any pictures etc would be gratefully received.

Hi folks I’ve run boat with 900 motor and 12v battery but is does not go fast enough to plane.

What are your views about upsizing with brushless motor, brushless motor controller and what size of battery and whether to stay single drive or change to twin drive.

Hope someone has product info for upgrading.

    Thanks Paul.

Thanks for posting about pond weed control.

Biological Control .. best seems to be Grass Carp reported to eat the weeds, we are still investigating.

Chemical Control... not allowed to use herbicide as our pond is linked to the River Itchen. However we do use Barley straw extract to control algae.

Mechanical Control ... motorised cutters etc are far to expensive and you still have to rake up the cut weeds.

In the end throwing a rake out or placed behind roots by guy in a boat and pulling it in is the best solution for us, so far. one in the boat, two each with a rake and barrow. we cut and collected barrow fulls.

We continue to use Pond Dye (see biofix and dyofix.co.uk) other shading can be obtained by planting willow trees.

Weighted black polythene sheets for 6 months at a time has been suggested as has solar powered fountain or air pumping air bubbles as this reduces infestations and oxygenates the water.

    Regards, Tall Paul.

    Thanks for the contributions.

    I have since found

one company that has the equipment to cut and remove the weed,

another company has weed cutters maximum depth of 4.4 ft, even though our pond is deeper we don’t have any scale boats that need more than that depth, the larger sail use a larger lake.

    Thanks Scout13,

The dye is a good idea.

At Guildford the council used barley straw bales, these seemed to work on just surface type weed not the ones we are having trouble with that grow from the bottom.

NOT from me (RNinMunich)! I just edited it to delete a previous comment of mine!
Lead acid batteries should not be discharged and kept charged up as much as possible. Discharging these batteries will reduce their capacity. if they are kept for any length of time without a charge, they will not charge up again.

To charge up these batteries use the same formula.

However lead acid batteries can cope with heavy currents and it is sometimes a good idea to charge them up with a higher current. Now and then charge them up with double the current as usual and for half the time.

So for example, a 5000mA/h battery, should be charged on 1 Amp for 5 hours.

    Winter Storage
To ensure they will be fine when next used make sure they have a top-up charge every couple of weeks. Half the length of time of a normal charge.

DO NOT HAVE THE BATTERY ON A CONSTANT TRICKLE CHARGE!

Large 12 v lead acid batteries (e.g. old home security batteries) have a time constant of approx 4 hrs so need to be charged 5 x 4 hrs = 20 hrs. I leave mine on overnight which usually does the job, offload charged battery volts are approx 13.8 v.
