Good advice given .... I personally use a length of baking paper of the roll ,bit of tape to hold each end and then run finger around top edge of hull giving shape then make a template using cardboard

I was a great believer in using home grown model shops until I retired then every penny counts. Nearly everything electrical you need for your model was or is made in China so Aliexpress became my preferred seller. I'm guilty your honour here's why...

Well eventually got the hull finished. Painted,running gear in and ballast sorted. Now taking a month off and starting again in the new year. In the mean time I have a new toy to go with my collection, so welcome aboard ANTEO

Wolle I wish it was a kit sometimes, biggest set of plans I could get were 1.24 scale but the boat is 1.20 scale so measuring twice cutting once and drinking loads of coffee in-between 😆

I mainly use water based Rustins paints for my models it works for me and only need one good brush as it washes out in water

Sorry peeps I've been a bit quiet lately, I was trying to work on my seabex one but as I'm having real trouble sourcing bits that are missing from the kit I've decided to put it to one side till next year. So I've started building the 48" steam drifter, just completed building the basic superstructure and am now spending most of today cutting 200+ strips to clad the sides, gonna be a long day lol

Making a lovely job on her, very smart but can I suggest that you should alter the water line.. mine was like yours but nearly lost her on choppy water so lifted her up a bit, now fine

Spray rails perfect as for bending I like to sink them under water for 24hrs then use a heat gun to keep the bends in place
