Great advice CommodoreH.
I sanded first and then resined internally, but in the case of fragile hulls or those in need of strong and thorough sanding, yours is an excellent method. ▲

Commadore H. Like the suggestion of coating the inside of the hull with resin to help lock the planking in place and keep them from moving while sanding. Len

Sometimes planking can flex a little during sanding.
My model building method always includes coating the inside of the hull with fiberglass resin before the major sanding. This fills in all the small voids and makes sure all the planking is securely locked in place. I build my boat "in primer" when I get the major structures together I coat everything with primer which helps any defects show up. I make the primer as good as I possibly can so when I paint the paint just adds the color. ▲
