Dumas dauntless

Hi, Dauntless is a great boat but not for the "faint hearted" .It requires a lot of sanding and getting the bow shape is challenging however,do not be deterred.
The boat will require considerable power to get a reasonable & realistic performance. I would definitely recommend a brushless set up. So here is my set up :-
Motors: 2xTornado Thumpers V3 3548/05 900kv (sku2980) by Overlander
ESC: 2x Shark Marine 60amp (sku ZTW9060201) water cool to be ultra safe.
Batteries: 2x 3s 3200mAh min lipos .
Props: 3 blade 35 to 55 mm ,all perform well.
You can see my boat called Gaby C on YouTube and as you will see ,I didn't bother with the Venturi or the canopies to enable better visibility .
Hope this helps but beware that many brushed recommendations are underpowered and overheat.

Hi evopg
Nice looking model of the fast commuter boat used on the Hudson river. I see Cornwall Model Boats sell the kit although out of stock at present, but you could give them a quick call and ask what motors and Escs they recommend.
You have two choices either brushed or brushless motors. You will need two Esc's (one for each motor) although if using brushed motors it is possible ( I personally would not recommend) to use one Esc. Batteries could be SLA, NiMh or LiPo with best (fastest) performance from LiPos but not possibly suitable for a novice user who may best be served by NiMhs.
If you are able to give a bit more detail about how you would like to see your model perform there are many on this site who will be able to suggest suitable powertrain set ups for your 49" model. You will also need to select suitable props to match your motors and to match the props on the original if you are building to scale.

I m usine in a number of boats the hobbywing esc. No problem with one or Twin motors. You need to Check voltage and ampere . Hobbywing has quite a Nice range even watertight of necessary. You can Check their website for models and prices and you don’t need to order in China
