The second boat i made when i was 16 was the Graupner Dachs which came out before the Wiesel and looked simular. I have done a lot of competitions of Naviga which was the european organisation. The best i got was the 6 th place in F2B national belgian competition.
I found it a fantastic model even today

we celebrate our 120th anniversary this week!!!! We organise an exhibition with our 3 divisions
modelboats( electric and steam driven- trains (electric and steamdriven- and model trucks ) in the prestigious castle of Schoten( just outside Antwerp) We are curious to see how many visitors or interested people will attend . I wil sent some pictures by the end of the week.

it is with tears in my eyes, of course of joy that i can announce that our model yacht club the"koninklijke model yacht club antwerpen" ROYAL MODEL YACHT CLUB ANTWERP" or K.M.Y.C.A. is one of the 4 oldest modelclubs in Europe.To celebrate this event we will organise an exhibition (as we are royal it will be in a castle of course) in the castle of Schoten which is just outside Antwerp. Our 3 divisions will be showing their models ( oldest and latest) and their expertise. The oldest is of course the boats ( electro and steamdriven) trains ( electro and steamdriven) and the lastest division is the lorries and they will lay out an inside track to show their models) Hereby you will find the invitation, no entrance fee.
If you plan to come and visit us give me a sign.

Yesterday we had our monthly club competition for steamdriven modelboats. Every time we announce the event on 2 different websites what people can do in Antwerp that specific day.yesterday we had a couple of families with youngsters who came to visit us.one couple has taken the train from Holland to Antwerp and read about the competition and visited us. We gave the young man the transmitter of a model and he has been navigating for over an hour!! And last but not least the mother took over and enjoyed herself! We were wondering have we finally broke the circle and will youngsters have found a new hobby instead of bl….tik-tok

We count two active model yacht clubs in Antwerp. One is located in a park and counts about 20 members if which max 10 are active every sunday. We have a pond especially made for us in concrete- 1m deep. We count 250 members but divided in 3 divisions trains-lorries - boats
From march to october we have twice a month a regatta one for electric boats and one for steam driven. My main concern us to attract youngsters and that seem to be a worlwide problem except in Germany. If you do have ideas please sent them to me please

our club the"royal model yacht club antwerp" exists this year a 120 years. We belong to the 4 th oldest model yacht clubs in Europe. Our past president has been leading the club for 40 years.
But it is voluntary and no one wants to do it.I have taken over the presidency 2 years ago and try to put much more effort into it. We participate with our 3 divisions( trains electric and steamdriven) lorries, and boats( steam and electrical) at a model exhibition last year and we got so much intrest that we were asked to participate again in 2026. To celebrate our 120 th aniversary we organise an exhibition in a castle just outside Antwerp. My main concern is how to attract youngsters? we are not a TIK TOK generation but i always wonder are there no youngsters who are fed up with it and want to be creative with their hands. If people do have ideas about this PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Regarding this exhibition we are going to invite students who are learning for a woodworking, plumbing carrier. So i m curious what the reaction will be. I will keep you posted on this
