Thank you for your replies, I have decided to install new gear altogether. I made this some ten years ago from a pic so she is scratch built. I was going to use the old 12v 7ah lead acid gel cell battery, with a 12v Johnson motor.. speed controller i don't think is made anymore. The trans is a Planet T5 2.4ghz and rec which i have found out are unobtainable so a new engine room is in order. I have been a member some ten years ago and did a couple of build blogs my name then was gooner 68 but i could not remember hence the new one. Its nice to be back i dont mind being a recruit again. Thank you all once again gooner 78. Martin.

I am not familiar with the brands of ESC and Receiver you are using, so this is an "educated guess answer"
1) have you bound the receiver to your transmitter? That is necessary for them to communicate.
2) from the picture, it appears you have the ESC in channel 3 and the steering servo in channel 4. On all the receivers I use, channel 1 is steering and channel 2 is throttle (ESC).
3) I cannot see from the pictures, but be sure the JST plugs going into the receiver have the black (ground) wires towards the proper terminal (on mine, it is the pin towards the outside edge).
Hopefully one or more of these helps.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

I'm afraid Munich is a bit far away to 'pop round' and take a gander.🤓
But maybe with some additional info from you I/we can help by remote.
(If surgeons can do it surely we modellers can too😉)
What equipment have you fitted?
- Receiver,
- ESC, does it have a BEC,
- Motor,
- Rudder servo,
- Battery,
- Any other gizmos.
Make and model numbers would help, as well as sharp close up photos.
A sketch of the wiring would be very useful too.
What seems to be the problem anyway? Symptoms?
