No Red you most definitely have not!
The 16BL30 is my 'stock' ESC for brushless and your set up is almost identical to mine in my Sea Scout, 16BL30 and a Propdrive 2830 1000kV motor.
2 possible solutions-
1) The ESC can be programmed for 3 modes, including forward only.
The other two are-
Forward- Brake- Reverse. Which is irritating to say the least๐
Forward-Reverse. Which is what you want for marine use. Option 3 in the programming.
Check your manual for programming. I thoroughly recommend that you buy the Quicrun programming card, much easier than counting the beeps๐ค
2) If your TX is one of those designed for the 'Fly boys' it may start in Forward only mode, and during switch on you may have to pull the throttle stick full back to initiate reverse capability.
If you get stuck give me a YELL and I'll post the relevant manual section and how I set up my Sea Scout. I use it with a Turnigy cloned (Badge engineered in Germany๐) i6 TX.
What are you using?
Bon chance mon ami๐ค
Cheers, Doug๐
PS Swapping any two wires to the motor will only change the direction of rotation.
It has no bearing whatsoever on the ESC mode of operation.
