Wind farms in early stages in waters south of Marthaโ€™s Vineyard in Massachusetts. Seemed appropriate to make a guess about work vessels they might use.Blount Boatyard in Warren, Rhode Island has contracted with Vineyard Wind for construction of two CTVs. Not sure that one will be of what I am building but pressing ahead anyway. First photo is of the vessel I am generally constructing. It is a cat while mine is a blunt bowed workboat. Otherwise I will use it for overall reference using Blountโ€™s GA drawing.

The wind farm boat is great.?Iโ€™m not a fan of the wind farm. Itโ€™s a rip off to Somerset MA. They lost two big power plants which raised local taxes and lost local jobs. I tried to put a Eco friendly power plant in there. The political hacks favored the wind farm termination at that site. It makes no jobs or helps taxes or even lowers local energy prices for the town. It screwed over the town big time. However, the boat youโ€™re showing looks like a good project. Can you name it Somerset in honor of the town?

Thanks to both of you. The access will not be quite as wide open as shown in the previous view. However, will still be quite adequate.Because of hull shape I had to raise a section of the aft deck to clear the rudder horn.I think you can just see it in the second photo.

I like how you hav easy access to all driveline, battery, radio, & steering components thru those huge openings in the top structure of the hull. You will appreciate those in 10yr doing maintenance on all those components.๐Ÿ˜‡

Hull looks good and I'm looking forward to following the build. I could be tempted to build one myself

    Regards

Iโ€™ve been working to get to the point where I can finish this up while in Florida.

    1. A mock-up of the cabin/ house structure to view mass & proportion.
    2. Transferring mock-up to Sintra & ply.

After first run it was apparent that improving water tightness was required. Even in rather calm sea states water comes over the bow. Some ballast adjustment & speed reduction has greatly improved things. Some in water photos.
