Doug,
In the past I have scaled up just using a calculator and a measurement stick. And that worked out fine As you say I definitely need to finish up some things whilst I have the chance. Martin555. ▲

"I did think of scaling it up to make a nice big model."
All I can say to that 'think' Martin is DON'T DO IT!! Have another thunk๐ Especially as you claim that you can't draw๐ฎ You'd need to take hundreds / thousands (for the detailing) of measurements multiply by X and draw plans accordingly, getting all the angles right or you end up with gaps. It ain't easy. How do I know? That's how I built my HMS Hotspur, scaling it up to 1/72 from an Airfix 1/600 model! All by hand, no PCs or CAD in those days, mid 60s ๐ค I took it as an interesting challenge and cos I wanted to use my 1/72 Afrika Korps and 8th Army troops as crew. Idea was triggered by having just learned Tech Drawing at school and watching Dad build the Sea Scout. Reckon you've got enough other 'stuff' too amuse yourself with at the moment anyway๐ Cheers, Doug ๐ ▲

Figures! I was thinking of an RC operated relay switch, such as I used for the "All ahead flank" command in my destroyer. Switched a second battery in series with the cruise battery.๐

As you wish Commodore๐
Dual throttles on a big boy is one thing. I think you might find the response much quicker and more dramatic than you expect on a model though. Up to you. You can always change it later. I'm going to upgrade my Southampton with independent engine control as well. BUT: I will do it with a dual ESC and rudder mixer board. Then I can operate both motors and rudder with one thumb on the right stick. Leaving the left hand free to fiddle with function switches (or the Bierkrug๐). Attached is the data on the mixer board I will fit. I will probably start with Mode 4 to see how it goes. Then maybe experiment with Mode 3 for spinning on a dime๐ Cheers Doug ๐ ▲

Hi Doug,
OK, I have the CON! It sounds like a challenge. To use dual throttles but it's not! I'm quite use to using dual throttles. In real live Tugs! It's quite nothing! Oh, and the right gear ratio helps also! G'night Fleet! ▲

"Dual Throttle Controller!"
So you'll have a "Tank tug" Ed ๐ Not easy to steer a smooth course, but you could turn it round on it's backside if you want to ๐ Good luck๐ค Using two hands to steer you're going to need a third hand (or a First Mate) to control all the special functions. Happy juggling!! Cheers, Doug ๐ BTW: As senior officer aboard you have Command ๐ G'night Commodore๐ค ▲

Hi Cash,
I'm hoping I made a good call as well! The Dual Throttle just seam to call me! Dual Throttle is going to be very useful. On manuvering and docking competition! Now all I have to do is get to a boat club. The closes club to me is some 38 miles away! And I think it's a sail boat club! Cheers, Ed ▲

T-FHSS AIR S.BUS 2 8 Channel with High Voltage System! With Dual Antenna's Only thing is I'll have to wait. Till I have the batteries to test the unit! PS. The instructions you have provided. Are the same ones I had downloaded. From futaba wedsite! Thanks, Though appriciate it! Cheers, Ed ▲

Hi Ed,
Shame you didn't order the Navy version in the first place๐ค Comes with the Twin Stick already fitted. Such a set also comes with a TX battery and an appropriate receiver. Which receiver do you have? Attached is the manual for the Navy version. Maybe it's better than what you got, dunno! Seems pretty well written and clear to me๐ Anyway, have fun ๐ I remember when the F14 Navy first came out, many years ago, I could only dream about one back then๐ค Cheers, Doug ๐ ▲

Hi Mouldbuilder,
I like the Flysky controllers! I have the FS-T6. It's a nice little controller! Now your pick of the Frsky X9D Plus. Looks very good! But, I chose the Futaba F-14. Because I wanted to add the Dual Throttles! Have i mentioned the F-14 is a monster size controller! It's about a inch and a quarter bigger than a standard controller! ▲

Looks good Ed. I was torn between the Futaba and the Frsky X9D Plus.
The Frsky won based on 16 channels built in and the Open TX firmware. The Futaba looks perfect but the cost of all the add ons can be significant. As yours, the Frsky has no usable instructions either. ▲
