Death of a member.

Hi Colin:
Sorry I just received the sad news about your beloved son.
Like many other members we do not have the correct words to dicribe how sorry we feel about your lost, loosing a son is not programed in a parents mind because we think that we will go first.

One thing that helped me to cope with this heart breaking situation is the hope that the Bible promises to all, about our passed family members.

The apostle Paul said: “I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” This solid hope is an extraordinary demonstration of God’s love for mankind.—Acts 24:15.

Billions can look forward to living forever. The Bible says: “The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.” (Psalm 37:29) At that time, they will personally experience the stirring yet comforting words that the apostle Paul wrote some 2,000 years ago: “Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55) Mankind’s formidable ene- my death will have been conquered!

You will see your son again alive here on earth as Jehova God promises.

This link will explain more about this wonderful promise.

Upon reading your sad message Colin, we realise that life can be very cruel, no son or daughter should die before their parents, and your dear wife is experiencing the worst part of getting old, I know the feelings you are going through, be brave for your wives sake, she will need you more than ever.
Gods blessings to you and your wife Colin.

Colin;

There are so many words, yet there are no words to express the grief from such a loss, particularly when it is totally unforeseeable. Condolences and prayers for your grief, and your silence here will be completely understood.

I cannot even pretend to imagine the pain of losing a child.
Be assured you and your family are in our thoughts.
Be strong, be there for each other, you will make it through this horribly tough time.

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Hi Colin. I cannot begin to imagine your grief, nor will I even attempt to say something to make the pain go away. Just know that somewhere, someone you never met, is thinking of you and your family.
May God give you the strength to get through this trying time.

Oh heck!
What a shock to read your post Colin. My most deepest sympathies.
I'm one of the (maybe? hopefully) few members who have an inkling of what you are now going through. I lost my daughter to a freak accident some 20 years ago.
Knocked me sideways.
My thoughts are with you all. If you feel the need to bend an ear you know where I am.
Doug.

Dearest Colin, if you felt the need to share this tragic event with us, I hope you will find a minimum of comfort with our closeness.

I was struck by this message, I am sad together with you.
I had to reread it several times.

Honestly, your recent absence seemed very strange to me but I thought it was a temporary health problem or some commitment.

I offer you my condolences and will observe, as a sign of respect towards you, a period of silence from this forum (except to reply to you).

I don't know you personally but I think you are a good person, I hope your wife gets well soon.

Sorry if my words are not suitable but I didn't want to remain silent and I wanted you to feel my closeness and condolences.

Dear modelling world, I am sad to say my son was killed this morning in a freak accident while helping someone repair their vehicle.
Although he wasn't an active member (TENBURY MIKE) he would often read through your posts and loved helping me and his son with our models.
So I may go quiet on here for a few days as my life is in turmoil at present, my wife has just had major surgery which has left her in a wheelchair for at least 8 weeks, now this so I am looking after her and now my grandchildren and daughter in law.
Regards Colin.
Fair winds and calm waters,
