Started this build in January, spent a couple months "planking", them came the sanding and filling. Getting close to the sealing the hull inner and outer.

    HI Dave,
I welcome you to my blog. I'm learning by the seat of my pants. So, fell free to offer any tips and tricks along the way.
To date, I've given the interior a first coat of polyurethane. Am now researching the best way to finish the hull. in the meantime, I've been filling and sanding.
After this, I'll begin the initial stage of finishing the hull. Next, will be installing the running gear....stay tuned!

Best of luck with that, l'm on my 1st build and finding my mind wanders from one thing to another with regard to how am I going to do this or that.

As for the hull and finishing, I'm keeping it simple, a few coats of wood primer sanded smooth (light rub with 180 grade the finishing paper) then a few coats of paint. The boat will be out of the water longer than its in it, so should be ok?? I coated the interior with a few coats of yacht varnish too. I may try a water based resin on my next project and see how that goes.

    Good luck with your build,

    Dave
