Hi Mark, There'd probably be a public outcry if the council decided to do that here ๐Ÿ˜‰And the councillors would get voted out pretty quick๐Ÿ˜Š Fortunately the boarders, bikers and rollerbladers have their own spaces elsewhere ๐Ÿ˜Š Although you do see bladers, joggers and cyclists all over the many paths and tracks around the park. Cheers Doug ๐Ÿ˜Ž

CADMA. Conisbrough & District Modelling Association
CADMA was founded in 1985 by a small band of local boat modellers who met in the Conisbrough Library. The club was constituted as a general modelling club to be known as the Coinsbrough and District Modelling Association, (CADMA). The first president of the club was the late Basil Copley M.B.E. CADMA dug its own lake at the Millpiece, the site of a former water powered wood mill in the shadow of the majestic keep of Coinsbrough castle. As the club developed and numbers increased, a larger sailing site was needed. We meet every Sunday from 12.30pm at the fountain area of the main lake complex on LAKESIDE BOULEVARD. Electric and steam powered vessels are permitted but not internal combustion engines. We are licensed by the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough council to use the lake and we carry Public Liability Insurance. This is the only licensed site for the sailing of model boats in the Doncaster area.

Our club recently held a sunset sailing session, its surprising how a cheap set of battery powered lights from a pound shop can add yet another world to r/c boat sailing, so why not have a go at your club too, great fun cheap to do and once finished, you can remove the lights ready for regular sailing.

Hi John - be nice to see how you did it - have stripped mine out entirely - was all stuck in with rubber type glue - came out clean . No motor esc etc just a bare prop tube. Want to try a brushless and Lipo's as the GF hull is a bit heavy. Superstructure weighs next to nothing - totally removable in one piece. Only had 3mm ply at the time - stripped one layer of ply and used the resulting 2mm ply for the deck and superstructure - used a bit of card too. Kids were young and expensive - not much budget for modelling at the time - was also very busy making furniture etc and remodelling the house. Regards Peter G

The Civic Centre lake has now been sold off by the council and we have moved across to the main lake in Eirias Park. Access is from the promenade opposite Porth Eirias, LL29 8HH. We sail there every Sunday morning and visitors are always welcome. Contact: secretary@colwynbaymodelboatclub.co.uk

    Confederation Marine Modellers
In view of Doug's experience, we contacted Godaddy. They advised us that we need SSL certification for our site. I'm a complete novice when it comes to website design and security but I learnt two things. One is that SSL is indicated by the green padlock and the 's' in https in the address bar. The second is that it's considered vital if sensitive information is being transmitted, such as credit card data, usernames and passwords, etc. And of course, SSL costs money. A scan of the list of clubs on this website showed that only one has SSL and they are using Google Sites, Google being actively pushing for SSL on everything. We are a group of model boaters whose website is simply making available for viewing some of our activities, we are not collecting anything from visitors. in conclusion, we will not be making any changes, and so McAfee users will continue to receive the message Doug reported.
