Barge amphibious resupply cargo Is a scratch build 820mm started earlier this month. plans were drawn last year from photos I am still having a challenge getting some of the detail from the photos. I have twin brushless 3200kv with twin 45mm screws 7.2v direct drive and still a work In progress I am now thinking I may of over done the power I guess I will have to see how It works out, the front wheels will be driven by a old 7.2 volt cordless drill with a diff and front linkages from a old traxx bits Including drive shafts and hubs, Planning 4 wheel steering and hub caps to make It more to scale. The wheels are 130mm In dia I also have rubber seals for the axles and steering linkages I will see how they work out .
Made from 3mm ply and lots of glue working out the detail from photos has Its own set of challenges. I hope to set up the motors Interdependently so that she Is more mobile on the water and not be restricted to much.
The Real BARC's were build by the Treadwell Construction Co Midland, PA, Great lakes Engineering works of River Rouge Michigan and the Transval Electronic Corporation In the USA BARC stands for Barge Amphibious Resupply Cargo. It Is 6.5m high and 21m long.It can be loaded officially 60 tons but It Is known to carry 130 tons. There Is one In Liberty Park Overloon Netherlands
I found this all Interesting so I am making this unusual model I will be updating the pics as soon as I progress more
