One of our own club membrs visited the event on Sunday and was NOt very Impressed with the organisers of the event.
heres a section of his response to me :-
"They had a few boats on show plus two or three on the water.
I dont know if youv had any dealings with that club but I found they where a little insular, not very welcoming, in fact
when I said I could not find a phone number to contact them
they just said "we dont put out our phone number" you should have emailed them !!.
As you know I never know untill the last minuit where Ill be, only knowing I could make it at noon that day , so email would not have fixed it.
How they gain new members { if they want to that is } is beyond me.
They never asked if I sailed or built, was in a club or if I liked
east enders !!!!!.
certainly a different attitude than the guys a chasewater."
To be honest, I dont know how some clubs survive if this is their attitude towards anyone approaching their stands and members. Surely its to encourage people in to the hobby and promote it. Not simply keep it to themselves like a certain character in Lord of the Rings!

Unfortunately, I have to work that day, otherwise I'd of taken the Mersey over.

It's on my calendar, so I shall try my best to be there. What times are we talking about, or did I miss some details?
Brian.
