HI Robin
I am not familiar with the particular motor you mentioned and Googled to get the details. As you had not mentioned the model boat by name and were asking about wiring I assumed (wrongly) that you were building a fast electric model.
If I had known the model and the other equipment you were installing my comments would have reflected your set up.
Looking on the Mtroniks website identified a totally different motor and whilst no specs are given I am sure the viper marine 15 ESC's are more than adequate.
The whole package is ideal for your purpose and Mark at A Model World would never have supplied you with any parts not suitable for your model.
Sorry to have caused you any concerns.
I have been modelling model boats for over 50 years and in the early days had to build my own transmitters receivers as well as power controllers. You can look in my harbour or the build blogs if you wish to see some of my models.
To answer your original question you will need a multistranded wire capable of carrying the stall current on the motor and I don't have that info.
I suggest you obtain some 14 strand by 0.3mm wire in red and black and put a 10amp ( or the motor stall current, if less) fuse in one lead to each ESC wire. I would expect each of your motors to run on about 1amp unloaded and

To Dave,
Your response concerns me!
I am building my first rc boat the billings
Smit Rotterdam. I bought this from A Model World.
They supplied 2 x vision 500 motors and Graupner 400 bowthruster. The ESC's provided were 2 x viper Marine 15 and 1 x viper marine 10. They provided standard hitech HS-311 servo for rudder. A planet 2.4GHz 7 channel transmitter and receiver and 2 x 6v batteries that show 6v 4ah/20hr.
This is not a fast boat.
What of what I have been provided with is suitable and what are your recommendations.
I am now ready to start planking the hull so I need to look at installing electronics.
Hope to hear from you soon.
How much experience have you with rc boats.
Thanks Robin

choosing appropriatly rated wiring

HI Robin
Just looked up the stats which are:
Voltage, 12V
Off load current, 1.18A
Max current, 54A
RPM, 16500RPM
Part No: V500M.
You will need a 100amp ESC for this motor and both will need to be watercooled.
You will need wire rated well in excess of the 54 Amps and make sure you put a fuse in the power line.
Try and get silicon coated wire to prevent any heat from causing a short. Fast racers usually have an obligatory external power link to enable the motor to be cut in the event of an accident.
This will be a very fast boat so please make sure you sail in an area well away from the public to avoid accidents.
Good luck
