Motor setup for 34" Fireboat

I am just painting mine now I have tried to keep it as light as passable, I have twin screws and am going brushless, the price is coming down all the time, I am looking at the equivalent of good race 05s geared two to one, and nicads I am looking at the rc car speck motors as they rev ok on lower voltages, as I will have to carry two sets of batteries,Stephen Mr Fireboat has a very nice single screw boat that is brushless and with the weight advantage of the Kingston hull if built light makes it a lot easeyer to make it perform. have a look at the chart on the bottom of the home page there are a lot of setups, to make it low fly go for a 700bb geared have a look at P M Devlin's on hear and yours will be a lot lighter.

Motor setup for 34" Fireboat

I built an Areokits 46" Fireboat In 1967 which I parted with In the 70's. I have decided to re-capture my youth! and build another, and have ordered a Kingston Mouldings hull & plan, this time In the 1/16 scale / 34" size.

Can anyone suggest a suitable power train (motors, ESC, props, etc.) for the size of boat? I guess I would like twin screws and a reasonable turn of speed but not at any cost! 🚤
