Servo question.

Good evening Spence, you need a left hand prop which are usually marked or labelled as ccw, counter clockwise.
But saying that it wouldn't matter if you already have a right hand as all that would be needed is to reverse the wires on your motor.

Servo question.

Thanks for the info. Colin H, that clears up a problem for sure. Do you mind if I ask you something else? My motor rotates anti-clockwise when viewed from the stern, do I need a LH or RH prop? Once again cheers for the reply. Kind Regards Spence

Servo question.

Good evening spence! I learned the hard way, never sail alone. In my first summer I lost five boats. Since then I have always sailed with two or three other chops and they have very innovative ways of retrieving boats that have stalled way out there

Hi Spence.

The photos help us understand better and then we like to look at the models and the devices that compose them.

Servo question.

Good evening Spence, as I said in my original answer your model will only want the 1 reciever which will give you control for your motor and steering via the ESC to the motor and servo for steering.
Your motor will give you a good speed with a 3 bladed prop of 25mm diameter. I would suggest trying a 7.2 v nimh battery to start.
Please post pictures of all your items as well as the model.
Cheers Colin.

Servo question.

Hi guys, I am stunned by your rapid responses and thank you. I am trying to attempt a Daytona Eliminator from scratch and the boat is about 2 feet long and weighs around 2.5kg without the hardware. Motor is a Torpedo 500 with 4 inch prop. shaft. As I said the motor is currently running off one R8EF, can I run the servo off the same receiver or do I need the second R8EF. I think the motor is capable of running off at least 4.5 to 15v and 2.1 Amp loaded. I don't want the boat to go too fast, because as a complete novice I don't think I could handle the speed, certainly at first 😂. Don't want to have an accident as it's taken me a year to build it. When painted I will post some pics. As I said before I am overwhelmed by the support from you all and can't thank you enough. Kind regards to you all, Spence

Servo question.

Spence,
Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find a wealth of information here. But it takes
some research filtering through all the threads to find exactly what you are looking for.

A 13 Kg servo is a very powerful one. That said, we need to know more information on
your intended boat size and intention of use.

There is a vast difference between a small tug plodding along and a large screaming high speed racing boat. Their set up is entirely different from each other.

With the 15 Amp ESC it would match a fairly modest size boat with a relatively small propeller to not overload the ESC. What is the motor capable of handling in the way of Voltage and Amperage?

These things need to be considered together to have a balanced system that matches
the boat of choice.
Please give us more information and I am sure the folks here can help.

Servo question.

Good evening Spence, welcome to the crew.
In reply to your question, I take it your boat/ship already has its reciever connected to your esc, and motor.
The servo which I presume is for the steering will normally connect to channel 1.
With the esc to channel 2 for the throttle.
Other channels can be utilised for operating lights, winches etc.
Don't hesitate to ask for help, and it always helps if you can add pictures of your items and setup.
Cheers Colin.

Servo question.

Hi guys, I'm completely new to model boats as this is my first. I have a Radient standard digital servo 13kg and don't know what I need to control it. My gear is a Radiolink T8FB transmitter and a R8EF receiver. Would like to know what else I need. Got the motor running with another R8EF and Mtronics Viper Marine 15 ESC. Any assistance you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Spence.
