Robbe motors versus engine sound modules

I have both a robbe unit and a caldercraft unit, both are unable to "sense" off the robbe navy motor.
both sound modules have a pair of wires which pickup of one motor, one wire of the pos/neg terminals of the motor supply, both Ive tried connecting directly to the motor. Ive even swapped the wires over, just in case there was a polarity difference.

Ive spoken to caldercraft [jhn] and he does seem to remember s there is a problem with the way the robbe motors are "wound" internally, plus they use a capacitor within the motor case or something, please appreciate my Ignorance on this, as Ive not removed the motors from their position in the boat, as it was purchased secondhand, with original motors in situ so to speak. they both work, so didnt see the need to remove or replace. [or even just take out just to be nosy!].
Best wishes.

HI gregoryk9
I have built and operated several sound units. What make of sound unit do you have? How does it connect to the motor?

Robbe motors versus engine sound modules

I have a fireboat running 2 robbe navy direkt motors. I have recently purchased a engine sound module but cant get the thing to pick up engine sound/speed when opening the throttle. According to the suplier of the sound module, It Is an Incompatability problem with the motors and unless replacing the motors, I cant have engine sound. the motors do also run electronise power controllers, but apparently this Is not the problem, Its something to do with how the motor Is manufactured Internally.

has anyone else had same problem? If yes, what did you manage to do to get engine sound or did you bite the bullet and replace the motors.

I am very reluctant to replace the 2 motors as they seem to be running fine and hav eno Issues with them at all, and If this Is the price to pay, I'll sell the sound board on ebay to recoup some of the money It cost.

but surely someone has had this problem and know some trick of the electronic trade to get It working correctly
Best wishes.
