Well if not a club just someone near by would be of great help......maybe start our own club......West Lakes Model Boat Club or The Solway Model Boat Club who knows 😊

Depends what's meant by West Cumbria. There are clubs listed on this forum, also try Model boat Mayhem. By googling I found Windermere Steam Boat museum have a club based there, that maybe able to help. Also Blackpool And Flyde model boat club. Think there's one at Hoylake also.
Ellesmere port museum are having an opening weekend event shortly. Someone there may have ideas. if you Put on here your exact location it may draw someone's attention.

I live in sunny Whitehaven which is right on the Cumbria coast famous for its shipbuilding and Paul Jones father of American navy raid where he spike the gun, as you say there is windermere boat club and one at Barrow both more than a 11/2 hours drive away.

Depends what is classed as west Cumbria, I googled and found Blackpool & Flyde model boat club and Windermere model boat club based at the steam museum. They may be able to help. There is a list on this site, see if any areas are close to you. Another site to post on is Model-boat Mayhem.
