This is a US1Meter class boat that I built with the lendgendary southern Californis boat builder Swede Johnson. His design and molds. Fiberglass hull, carbon fiber rudder, keel, spars and mast. Nice fast boat. (5/10)
Ron,
As you requested, here are some photos of two US1Meter racing yachts that I built so you can see the entire hull, keel and bulb.
The burgundy boat was my first build and is more of a traditional hull design. The Teal colored boat is more of a torpedo or submarine shape.
The last photo is of the late Swede Johnson with two examples of his "hot dog" US1Meters that he designed and built. These are predecessors to the Teal boat design.
I see that the US1Meter is also sailed in Canada, are you planning on building one?
Regards, Joe
Yes it is as you asked. I do not race it, just sail for fun! It was designed for sailing in weedy areas, though the sailboat use to be in races on Lake Ontario in 1 meter swells, said the fella I bought it from. It does weigh in around 16lbs. and measures close to 45”.
I have just downloaded a pdf which gives a history of the boat. Certainly is an interesting read. Link is attached. (At least i hope this is the yacht)
My boat came out of this club. The owner had several health and eye site issues, and gave us a special treat. My family bought the sailboat for my birthday about 5 years ago. The uses, the Soling mast and sails; it can use either the standard mast and sail or the taller mast and “B” sails for lighter wind conditions. I have both rigs, but sail with the standard rig.
After getting into RC pleasure sailing, just for fun and not racing, the idea of building became an interest. I have done two builds. Those will be email later.

I looked up your M12 on the Canadian site, is it the Mini M12 that is 45" long and weighs about 15lbs?
My current build is also 45" long and will weigh about the same. It will use a keel and bulb similar to the US1Meter.
