A Cullermix tug conversion

I bought this old tug from a well known internet site ,and set to making her look more like the craft tug she was meant to be The Blue Circle Cement co tug Cullermix.
The first things to do were to strip it all down to the bare hull which meant removing the entire bulwarks and deck as well so that literally all I had was the wooden hull, this was then stripped of all paintwork and the inside varnish. The propshaft was then removed and re sited to allow a bigger motor to be fitted, and then the hull was given a couple of coats of resin on the insides and some good oil based primer on the outside, when this was all dry,I fitted a new 3mm ply deck and coamings.

The next job was to start to make the new casing to the correct size and shapes, the funnel is the old one used for effect this was later binned and a new funnel made .

To make a change I made up most of the deck fittings next ,and made the frame and canvas cover for the wheelbox as well as putting some undercoat on the casing.

I next did the hull plating effect, for this I use 100gsm paper and waterproof PVA glue, then seal it with sanding sealer and undercoat red oxide.
