    Hey my Friends!
    I have some running light questions for my Caltex Lumba-Lumba.
    These I have covered....๐Ÿ˜‰
    Port = Red
    Starboard =Green

    But, I am not sure about these:
    Aft Running Light = ?
    Mast Running Light = ?
    Mast Light = ?
    Masthead Top Light = ?

    As per usual your input is deeply appreciated.

    Merry Christmas!!!!! -- Guy

    Thank you all for your comments!
    You guys are the BEST!!!!!!
    When I get around to my Dumas Coast Guard Utility Boat that I have stashed I have these notes and comments to refer to. Especially the amber aft light in towing applications. ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Merry Christmas and the Very Best of 2024 to you all!

    Hi RodC, thanks.

    It's really true, a picture says much more than a thousand words, especially for me who don't know English.
    To tell the truth, I was tempted to delve into the topic of signal lights on ships to delve deeper into the discussion but then I stopped myself in time, ahahahahahah.

    Hi Jumpugly, I hope I can help you.
    While I was looking for some suitable photos for you in some books I saw that Mike Stoney (great Mike) sent you a very useful photo.
    I think that if you have already positioned the green and red lights correctly, all the others must be white.
    If you want to be as faithful as possible to reality you should also respect the angle. In reality, this limitation serves to make the lights visible only from some positions, excluding others.
    There are also many navigation situations indicated with lights (by number, color and position) but I don't think they are for you.
    I hope I understood the question.

    I have some notes, The Vessel being towed should show a white light all around visible to 3 MI. Then I found two different situations regarding the light, the tow light, on the towing vessel where it should be aft facing and yellow whereas the other opinion was white, red, Green or yellow all round and visible to 3 MI my other notes confirm the previous comments

    PS,
    JP, the Masthead (Top light) AKA the Anchor light (as Greg said), is ONLY lit when actually stopped at anchor or at an offshore mooring buoy, i.e. stopped but not tied up in harbour.
    The other nav lights will be off, dat's why they are called 'running lights'๐Ÿ˜‰

    Right on Greg.๐Ÿ‘
    So 'dat's all white then'๐Ÿ˜
    JP, should you build a tug, or any other vessel equipped for towing, it will need an aft facing yellow light which is lit when actually towing

    Hi,
    With the exception of your Port & Stbd, the Stern Light, Forward Masthead Light and Masthead Top (All Round) Anchor Light, are all White.
    There are also special function lights used in certain fisheries and Towing .
